Hi All, I just purchased an APACS and want to make sure it is not a fake. Here are the wording on the shaft: ULTRA LIGHT WEIGHT / HERO HEAVY BALANCE .......etc etc Is this a typo? Shouldn't it say HEAD HEAVY BALANCE? Or is this a fake? Serial number on the cone is : AP35168 . No hologram on the cone, and it is 4U-G2. Can anyone with one comment? Thank you, Ilham
Perhaps the R is actually an A, and the O is actually a D? The font might be a little weird, but I doubt it's a fake as I haven't seen any fake Apacs around. One easy way to test it is to string it to 30lbs.. if it breaks, it's probably a fake. If it's legit, it can easily take 30lbs or more.
thejym has it right. Mine also looks like it says HERO but the font is that really blockly one. Look at the other R's and A's in ULTRA and you'll see.
Mine states that the max tension is 28lbs..how about yours? i don't think there would be any company who would clone a clone =)
Hmm...the "R" in HERO really looks like an R. The "A" in ULTRA doesn't have a flat edge on the left. Should I post a photo? These two racquets came from ebay seller: racquet_sports Best, ilham
I have the exact same thing. Plus the racket doesn't have a CS cap. I also got it directly from apacs canada. Has anyone found out if this is fake or not? =S Thx
lol i did not notice that the HEAD was printed HERO until i saw this thread same wordings on my unit and btw, this model is already a clone, who wants to clone a clone?? and racquet_sports seems to be a good and trusted seller, as credited by a lot of buyers
I think it is a 'hero'. I own one too, by the way, and I have a 'hero' too here. My personal thought, that might be just a way used by APACS to differs NANO 900P with YY AT900T. Bought it from one trusted APACS distributor in Jakarta, Indonesia. He is also a member here, and I don't doubt him. Regards, badmintonaddict
It would definitely the font issue, which company would want to clone a clone racket? And if you do look closely, the "ULTRA" looks like "ULTAA"? In Malaysia, we have a slang for "ULTAA" = low quality
DeePee, it looks identical to my Apacs rackets too. I've strung the Nano 900 Power White up to 30x33lbs and it was perfectly fine, therefore I have no reason to believe they're fake (the whole point of a fake is to make it APPEAR like it's a quality racket... if in fact the racket is high quality, I wouldn't even call it a fake). On top of that, ApacsCanada and racquet_sports are trusted sellers of Apacs rackets. I doubt you'll get fake rackets from them.
Haha, I didn't notice anything wrong with mine. I thought it said Head. Then I read this, I looked at my racket, and now it looks like it says Hero. New nickname for my racket I guess.
