In Uber Cup Group Y, Japan has already qualified (yes, for the Uber Cup finals, because even if they finish as 4th team, they beat Netherlands on rankings) by having 3 wins. Even if they lose to HKG, their 3-1 record is good enough. HKG and PHI are out. The other semifinalist will be the winner between IND and TPE. They play tomorrow. My prediction for evening's ties: Thomas Cup QF INA v THA: INA 3-0 TPE v JPN: I think JPN has the edge, but it's close for every match Uber Cup Group X SIN v SRI: SIN 5-0 INA v THA: This will probably decide who joins KOR as the semifinalists from this group. THA has surprised me with their resilience, especially the top 2 singles and the top doubles. That said, INA will take almost 2 guaranteed points from WS3 and WD2. Just like the KOR-THA tie yesterday, KOR needed just one point from WS1, WS2 and WD1. I believe INA will get that one point.
I think KOR is not yet guaranteed semifinalists. There is still possibility that both INA and THA going to semifinal(although very small)
