The grips are good but the end tapes really need some improvement.

agree. first thing i do is to throw away the end tape and wrap it with this:

    best end tape. ever.

I always wrap my grips upside down and skip the finishing tape altogether :P

^^ yep... don't need no finishing tape... just use a thin double sided tape to hold that tapered part of the overgrip by the cone

nice and clean finish... i'll take a picture later...

Upside down? I can't imagine it, how do you exactly do that?

like this... start with the wide end by the butt, then end with the tapered end by the cone

if the tapered end has good adhesive tape already, then good enough... if not, then you can either add additional double sided tape or use a dab of superglue to hold the tapered end onto the overgrip itself

end result: smooth clean finish without finishing tape!

I thought that was the "standard" way of doing it? So you're saying that that is the complete opposite?

i guess that is the standard way now...

whereas years ago, the standard then was to start with the tapered end at the butt...

Yes that is the opposite actually . The sticky part is meant to be your starting point so it stays put when you begin to wrap ...
I wouldn't say your "standard way" is the standard nowadays, still see plenty of tape (even) on the "pro's" rackets (Cai Yun; but I guess if the majority have it the other way around then it can be called the standard; don't know about mortal level though down a few notches of the pyramid)

    that is definitely upside down
the sticky part meant to be the bottom part, not the upper part

I will not gonna try this method on replacement grip though

hat do you mean by sticky part? The sticky part is all thorughout the grip right? Do you've any videos showing the upside down and the conventional way? A video speaks more than a thousand words, lol

I thought we were talking about replacement grips application method here.

the one that ants (person in that video, member here in BC) he is using OVERGRIP as replacement grip
it is thinner (0.6mm) and the sticky part is only at one end
check around minute 3:22 - 4:00 in the video,

while replacement grip is thicker (1.2mm) and has double tape through out the grip therefore the method in the video is not recommened

this is the normal method for replacement grip:

the one that I give is more recommended for replacement grip (that is the standard way on gripping a racket)

while for overgrip or using overgrip as replacement grip, then ant's video is more recommended

Most replacement grips gotta start with the tapered end at the bottom....else ur brand wordings will be upside down
