Something I hate about badminton is all the times I have to yell at the basketballers to "STOP BOUNCING THAT DAMN BALL WHILE WE"RE PLAYING!"

another thing about badminton is playing in old multisport gyms where the basketball backboards are manually cranked to pull the up into the ceiling, or have electric motors that pull slower than the a snail's gallop. in our school gym it takes nearly 15 minutes for the electric motor to fully crank the backboards up to the rest position, and the darn switches don't have a toggle so you need to keep holding down the switches (theres 4 of them).

wow, but you guys must have really nice high ceilings then? our basketball nets are just pulled towards the end walls, and i've yet to hit the ceiling during a game, though it can be done just hitting up.

unfortunately, not all retractable basketball net/boards are efficiently designed. Even when retracted, i can easily hit them with shuttles. Even a grade 6 kid could design them better.

yes, they are very high ceilings, but cooler and I can effortless hit the ceiling with our clears due to our super-human strength and techniques...

as cooler mentioned, most of the design for the basketball gear are an after-thought, and do not care for the requirements of badminton players.

Yeah, in most school gyms with such systems (and there are many) the retraction is not complete most of the time, and when it is... it's blocked by the motor

Baddy clubs = clubs of lonely hearts.
Yeah, someone told me once how the whole entire gym of guys got distracted by a lovely lady drop-in (she's not a bad player herself). Funny enough, I was there yet somehow managed to missed out on her presence despite the commotion
. Probably explained why I had an amazing streak of wins that evening
.
Also, I was given a pearl of wisdom: NEVER bring a date to your regular badminton club
. She better be really into you to withstand the constant attentions from the single guys
