jump rope

    we all know how good it is for badminton players to use the jump rope but can i just ask is there any difference between a jump rope and a speed rope? if not what is more advisable for us badminton players tnx

    As I understand it, a speed rope is just a more modern type of jump rope made of dense plastic which means it's thinner and heavier, so makes high speed skipping much easier because it travels much faster.

    I can do double and triple fly jumps with a speed rope, but with an old fashioned cotton rope, there's no way I'd ever get the speed up to do that.

    Plus, speed ropes last longer as they don't wear out as quickly (if you can actually wear one out completely, you will have done a seriously heavy amount of jumping, your calves will be HUGE :p )
