    Hey guys,

This summer I will be travelling over seas from Canada to Korea and MAYBE to china...

Im planning on taking my yonex 9 racket bag BAG7929EX full of stuff like my rackets and my clothes(of course) and whole bunch of stuff to give to my family and relatives as a present "from Canada":D

Has anyone been able to take their bag On board instead of sending as a cargo?? I heard some people say taht now its hard to do so...

it should be fine, as long as theres no restrictions on what you can carry on since that whole airline breach thing happened back in december they changed rules about carry on stuff but i think its gone back to normal (correct me if im wrong) but yeah just dont over stuff it, want it to remaim pretty thin/able to compress it so its not to bulky.

What I would suggest is that you contact the airline and ask them.

    I know that:

    1. the bag is too big to fit in that little "test" thing
    2. sports equipment is typically not allowed as carry on due to the possibility of it being used as a weapon.

I actually did brought my badminton equipment on a plane 3 times now. If it can fit the sizing then you're fine. If its not too heavy then its fine.

As for badminton rackets being used as a weapon, they don't consider it as a weapon. Its only tennis, golf, and other with hard equipment.

I've only had slight delays at the Canadian and Singapore airport. Canadian customs asked what was in the bag and i said badminton rackets and the let me through. Singapore, a new flight agent (the ones that take your ticket before the plane) asked his boss if my bag is allowable. She just measured it and let me through.

As long as you're not throwing in tennis rackets or jam-packing the bag then i guess you're fine.

My bag was a two pocket.

    It sure is possible..

..if you did a Search, stumbled upon this thread below & read the variety of testimonies;):

..although i must say, there are probably new regulations regarding carry-on luggages or bags since the start of that thread..

IMO that would be a stupid assumption. It would be very easy to break the shaft and create a make shift stabbing weapon with it due to the splintered way that the carbon fiber would break.

In any case, it's always best to check before hand. Even if you can't carry it on you should be able to check it at the door of the plane and have them store it with the baby strollers and other door checked luggage.

Yes you can. I do it all the time. Except for internal flights in Australia.

should be ok, i carry my duffle bag onboard, and they are about the same size, just make sure you dont have the rackets clanking around inside all the time, sounds suspicious
