Generally if similar models are compared across each brand, it is generally accepted that the order is Yonex, Aeroplane, RSL, and then the other two (don't know their order) if durability is the main consideration. If value is taken into account, then it might swing Aeroplane's way.

^Agreed. But for durability, I'd say that Aeroplane's EG1130 is almost at par with Yonex AS-50, if not at par. But because Aeroplane is so much cheaper, it would make sense to buy them.

wow, if they are good as Yonex As-50 but cost much less, then people should be buying them in their thousands! Aeroplane is unknown in England where Yonex, RSL, Ashway and Snowpeak are popular. I will give them a go see how it fares, have to order it from internet as there are not seen in local shops.

    All makers have different models..

I have not used Aeroplanes top shuttles so I cant comment on that.

RSL used to be great but last couple of years their top shuttle has been pretty bad (durable, but seems unbalanced/heavy, not consistent)

Yonex AS30/40/50 are superb imop, but overpriced (at least in europe).

in terms of durability, i would say that AS50 is the best. EG1130 is better than AS40, but not that close yet to AS50. however, on sheer value, EG1130 will beat both AS40 and 50. But RSL Classic tourney comes quite close in terms of value for money.

btw, i just bought some RSL Supreme. never heard or used it. going to try it out this week.

I have had some problems with RSL classic tourney, they are fine to play with (unlike Twobeer's observation) just not that durable. Do the UK get a different batch?! If they combined Twobeer's experience with mine that would be good!

Carlton GT1 are also pretty decent (not that it was on your list) as are snow peak. Both good value for money. Ashaway weren't great they broke quickly and were way too fast at speed 78. Speed 77 was better.

Aeroplane are the best "value for money" imo. Good luck finding them in UK/Europe though... Unless you know someone who visits Asia regularly and knows to buy the correct speed of shuttle.

As shuttles change year on year though finding the "best" brand is a bit of an expensive process! Unless you play(ed) in a local league where all the clubs used very different shuttles! It's great trying to adjust for the first few games!

Or a combination would be the worst of two worlds :)

maybe thay have different production lines..They seem to glue like crazy on the stems (probably to increase durability) and the flight path an "snappy" feel gets lost.. They feel somewat in between duck shuttlas and normal goose shuttles..

EG1130 is somewhere in between AS-40 and AS-50, but a lot less than both. SG1130(comparable to AS-30 and AS-40) and G1130(Comparable to AS-20 and AS-30) are also very good birds (the lower end ones), but they cost slightly less than EG1130, so you might as well get the EG1130.

I honestly have never heard of them...let alone tried them sorry ><
Which MIGHT say something about their popularity in the US, or maybe it's just a coincidence that I've never heard of them :p

tried the RSL Supreme. flight initially was consistent. but somehow the shuttle did not fly as far as RSL No.1. also the shuttle feathers broke on a hard shot. Happened to 4 shuttles. however, the feathers did not ruffle like No.1. i think i would rather buy Classic Tourney

Thanks bro. That'll save me some trying. I'm down to my last tube of EG1130 so am looking around at different shuttles again.

Forget about nylon shuttlecocks which has started to "ravage" the standard of badminton in North America, where the standard of badminton has declined in tandem with the popularity of nylon. Today even Poland and Russia can thrash the US or Canada. Do you want your country's standard of badminton to fall of the precipice, which is what nylon guarantees?
