I added a phone battery wire that i previously cut in order to tape it around my racquet head. The aim was of course to get an extra repulsion since i cant play with my right hand bcuz of a wrist pain. You know what ? it sucks ! xD
My clears were actually worse (great net play & retrieving, as usual though). My tape is a vulgar one, hump dents(no aerodynamics, air passing through tape holes), in the end the racquet(musclepower 50 LOL) weighted like 150gms, just enought to give me a tennis elbow(though i cant smash or clear with my left arm, no big vibration).
My new strategy is to add thin carbon wire, then covering it with tape. It would be like a doped racquet, i dont even know if it's allowed. I guess i'm both a creative person & a cheater in order to cope with my lack of technique (my first year with this sport).
I'll add a picture (only if ppl ask me to, just to laugh a little)

Lee doing DIY!
Did it make a huge difference in the end?

go to a pharmacy and get 'dressing' tape. the ones they used to cover up wounds.. they also have the 'slim' type, about 10mm or so in width..
i added about 5 cm x 2 ply on each side at the very top and it makes the head heavier and smashes a little more powerful.

The best bit about new series is, that the specs look identical on paper for the whole line

I havent try PROTECH racquet before ... but many of my friends are using PROTECH Jupiter, Saturn and Eclipse. Im from Perak, maybe these model of racquets have their own goods.

Jupiter and Saturn both have muscle power curve pattern on the inner side of the head, as compared to most racquets which are of slim head. Jupiter is more head-heavy while Saturn is more head-light.
Maybe you should give it a go of buying one too!

As promised, my little humble showcase of my entire collection of Protech series racquets thus far:
L-R: Blue Monster, Strike 900, Mercury, Neptune, Jupiter, Saturn, Eclipse 2 Orange, Eclipse 2 Blue, 3x Armortec 700 Limited, 3x Nano Power 990.

and they all look brand new.
no paint chips whatsoever.

Paint chips? Well, the Strike 900 has one at 7 o'clock; the Mercury have two at 12 o'clock; the Neptune have three at 3 o'clock, 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock; and the first Nano Power 990 has one at the shaft, causing the letter 'R' to lose its' left leg.
LOL. Why is that so? All due to mixed doubles' overly aggressive i-want-to-hit-give-it-to-me female friends. Haha!
The rest of the racquets are just like 99.9% brand new.

Wow...thks for the photos...really got me interested in the eclipse blue....can share how's the weight like for eclipe blue? Izit head-light even balanced? Which is the prefered racquet for me... ;p I see that u didnt show the Mars racquet?

I have currently strung both of them at 28lbs with Protech's Absolute Gold string and it is very good to be used as a doubles' racquet.
Well, I have not acquired the Mars though, same goes to the Earth as well. So, yea that's the two planet series which I have not acquired and most likely will not acquire as I have had enough of racquets for my collection.
You can give the Eclipse 2 Blue a try, the colour is really nice on the racquet. Brightly chromed-blue, place the racquet head close to a white painted wall, you will see the glaring blue shining on the wall. LOL!
I will show you individually taken photos of the Eclipse 2 Blue if you want. Cheers.
