I've been posting somewhat 2-3 posts about this and i finally end it up and made it more clearly and i hope that you all will help me in this final post about this matter: I've been wanting to own a racket which has the characteristics such as: 1) light weight (becos i'm more of a mixed defend and offense player) 2) great control & power (becos i'm a more finesse and smash player) 3) singles and doubles racket (becos i'm good at playing either singles or doubles) 4) durable, withstand clashes, and allow higher tensions (becos sometimes i clash pretty badly with my partner & i would like to go for 25lbs with no racket problems) 5) a racket that i can fully use its potential (becos i'm not actually very body-built) 6) versatile and elegant racket my choices boils down to these rackets because of its availability, affordable, and high quality: YangYang Tactic 8500/9000 (RM239) Yonex MP77 SP (RM280 w everything equipped) Yonex Isometric 800 Tour (RM389) Yonex Carbonex 20 (muscle, tour, original) Carlton Aerogear 900FX which racket do you suggest that is best for me according to my specifications?
sorry, u have lots of contradictions in this message. Try rereading it. so which one is it?? 1) light weight (becos i'm more of a mixed defend and offense player) 3) singles and doubles racket (becos i'm good at playing either singles or doubles) umm... 2) great control & power (becos i'm a more finesse and smash player) 5) a racket that i can fully use its potential (becos i'm not actually very body-built) try looking at American cars for example -> rugged but looks like crap. Also, a light racquet will not be able to withstand too many clashes. 4) durable, withstand clashes, and allow higher tensions (becos sometimes i clash pretty badly with my partner & i would like to go for 25lbs with no racket problems) 6) versatile and elegant racket what you're saying is u have an all around game. So a person with an all around game can utilize whatever right?
well, TOmike... can you give suggestions on which racket is better on your personal preferences? [sorry to confuse anyone]
Afraid not, i haven't tried the one's u've listed extensively. But i tried to get you to clarify your statements. goodluck. but Mp77 is not bad, and u can't go wrong with a Cab 20, if both Cheung and Kwun stockpile them in their nuclear bombshelters
Go with whichever one you are most comfortable with. They are all great racquets. If you want classics, both the Yonex ISO 800 and Cab 20 are wonderful racquets.
nuclear bombshelters? you mean they been safekeeping them? well, i already got a MP55, no meaning to get another one from the Muscle Power series, right. i ought to try some other manufacturers, Yang Yang..for example. i've been catching up on YangYang's Tactic Series, mainly the 9000 and 8500 and I can't differentiate on which on is better for me. is the Tactic 8500 is more "technogically advanced" than the 9000 excepts in terms of power? btw, have u tried them?
I'd say there's no racquet available for Angelus that would fit his criteria because of point 5. Sounds like Angelus needs a racquet that can play on its own without the human hand controlling it
after some review check, i recompiled my list of my wanted rackets: YangYang Tactic 8500 or 9000 Yonex MP77 Yonex Ti-7 Yonex Isometric 900 SR Yonex Isometric 800 TR I'm a 50% smash 50% control/finesse. 60% doubles and 40% singles play. prefers a racket that both excels in defense and offense. i would like a racket that is durable and gave me comfort when play. preferably, not a heavier racket like the MP55. based on my play, which racket suits me depends on my list? p/s: is the MP55 has the same characteristics of an Iso800 tour or a Ti-10 more? p/s: sorry, i can't really test or try the racket before buying it, nor my friends have them. so, i can't be sure of a particular racket. [looking forward for your replies] oh my god: this forum kick a$s
i say an iso 800 b/c its characteristics are slightly like your mp55, allowing you to switch rackets a bit more easily. just me 2 cents.
Hey Angelus, I was looking for the same, pretty the same profile as you have. I bought the Yonex Isometric Ti SwingPower SR, thanks to this forum. It is really really good for me! Good luck on your choice...
I mean: You are and i was looking for a light racket, right? You are looking for control and power, for double and singles, right? Versatile, elegant and durable, right? I found all these options in the YY Ti SwingPower SR. It is not in your list, sorry for that...
hey, how come you took the cab20 and aerogear 900fx out of the running? those would be good choices for the type of game your looking for. the cab20 is very good in all aspects, its pretty much an all rounder racket with very good feel and control as for the aerogear 900fx its very light, got power and durable, only needs some more effort in the control area
what about taking 25lbs of tension for long. Why do you want the poor chap to go looking for a new racquet on his 3rd stringing job? J/K
the "perfect" racket doesn't exist. and even if it does, you will still be limited by your skills. so stop dreaming and go play some badminton.
sorry, NL-player.. the Swing Power is very expensive in my place.. can't afford it. tasheik, i got second thoughts of the Cab20.. don't ask. confusing please send more of your thoughts
angelus..u johorean?..seems yang yang racquets are popular there and not so in KL. anyway, you really cannot ask ppl to recommend which racquet until u try it. I tried a Yonext ti10 and hated it. I tried Gosen Aermet 4500...hated it. Noone here talks about proace and i'm planning to get a proace ti dream and i havent even tried it before. i might like it...i might hate it, so it's the risk i'm taking. most ppl like the cab20, but i dont. so imagine how much more irritated you will with yourself when u buy a racquet most ppl recommend and you did not like it?. And to make matters worse you should have the other one which felt good in your hands but you rejected it because lotsa ppl do not like it.
