do you dives for saving a point ? or just it drop on the ground / i usually dun dive because im wearing spectacle while plying.
Usually by the time I have thought "I could dive to reach that shot" it is already too late... I need to work on my reactions...
In singles, I do in desperation, but it's not effective since I can't recover quick enough for the next shot. In doubles, I don't have reservations diving because I know my partner will cover for me... the main goal is to make sure we stay in the rally!
If it comes to the must, i'll dive for it. Not apply to everybody, but for me, when i play serious I'll try all my very best to have a good game. It is a bad thing not to try very best. But if you're body condition is not able to do dives then it would be bad to force yourself.
Unless I'm really into a game I won't dive for anything during social play. I would probably dive for those I think I can reach in a tournament though.
I never dive regardless of the situation, I take a deep lunge and unless I'm very out of place then I guess I don't reach it. I also tell my fellow teammates not to dive, specially since a lot of them don't even lunge properly, you could really hurt yourself if you haven't been taught the proper way to dive for a shuttle. So I don't risk the injury
Is this thread relevant to training or techniques in anyway?? Or u just wish to discuss dives and diving in general?
I try to mimic LCW when I dive. Its VERY hard to swing that rear leg around while trying to get the birdie.
I have started practising, diving, and getting up quickly, I dive quite a lot, so when I am bored thats what I do.
My opinion on diving, is don't do it. If you hav the correct footwork technique, are physically quick, then unles you are playing top pro players who jump 2 feet in the air and hit at 260kph to the lines, then you don't need to (evn if you are playing them like this you only need dive on rare occasions. When players dive, it is because they are struggling to cover the court as thei footwork has broken down. It is common in todays game as it appears to have become cool. Yes LD does it, but mainly to show off or when he isn't concentrating. Someone tell me how many dives LD did in the OG final 2008, when he was focussed and playing to his full...........then someone compare that with his AE 2008 final (just 5 months before that match)......and then you should be able to work it out for yourself.
maybe you should train footwork more.... maybe you should dive if your footwork fail... maybe you should dive more if you can dive like lcw...xD
