    1) Nadzmi was appointed to take over from F.Che Wan during Frosts time, after complaints about players not paid, bad management etc etc. This guy was appointed by Mahatir as he had a track record in corporate affairs and manufacturing of a very protected car.
    2) The guy was supposed to reorganise the set-up to be more professional and do away with all the mismanagement and petty corruption that had plagued BAM so long.
    3) Today his set-up could be seen as an improvement but the old problems of inadequate money, slow payment etc etc are still around. People know his ability as a corporate man, but not his knowledge of badminton. Some doubt his commitment,he may not really know problems hands on.
    4) Government funds and sponsor money is available on paper, but they take time to trickle down why is this so, fact is in many organisations funds are available only in theory, they may have been diverted to other uses as directed by the politicians behind the scene.
    5) Perhaps this character is not hands on, he doesn't know players are having problems, he is away, Ganga may be closer to the action, he tries to be a hero and endorses a deal to solve the problem quickly before it worsens.
    6) This character wakes up, he feels undermined as his status and that of the car is at stake, he postures and takes it out on Ganga.
    7) Now his political bosses bring in the MACC to frighten people who dare to challenge the management.
    8) He is aware of his failure as a chairman of the coaching committee and gives it up, and maybe now wants to spend more time on this object so that his car does not get undermined. There is however no question why the players are paid so slowly and why the association is always short of money, definitely money is peanuts to this man, but not necessarily true of people he is in cohort with.
Now I don't claim that my story is true, it is mainly based on the postings of the members of BC, I absolve all responsibility in case of lawsuits, the above analysis is merely hypothetical subject to critical review by anyone reading this post.
Sorry forgot the footnote, people who can think logically with no bias are welcome to post their comments here.

pBmMalaysia, you have a rather wild imagination. That is a compliment and I am sure you are "gainfully employed" using the trio.

I have met many strange people in my life and there's always the category we call "funny characters".

Usually they are salesmen or politicians, they have only one purpose, to close a sale or con the population.

Like Loh, we learn to deal with them, don't engage them. They have a role to play, they are the life of the party

and provide all the fun and amusement when one is bored, for free.Keep observing them and confirm.

Olde English saying : Empty vessels make most noise.

Top doubles pair separated for Kedah Open

KUALA LUMPUR: Absence, they say, makes the heart grow fonder.
And world number one pair Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong are about to experience it first hand when their partnership is broken up for the Kedah Open, which will be held in Alor Setar from July 21-24.
But Malaysian badminton fans need not worry. This is just a temporary arrangement to prepare them to get it right at the World Championships, which will be held in Paris from Aug 23-29.
At the Kedah Open, Kien Keat will team up with Ong Soon Hock while Boon Heong will be reunited with his former world junior champion partner Hoon Thien How.
And, based on the draw for the opening leg of National Circuit yesterday, these scratch pairs may face each other as early as in the second round.
The decision to break them up will certainly add a tinge of excitement to the local circuit and help pull in the crowd for the early rounds.
Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) secretary Ng Chin Chai said yesterday that the Kien Keat-Boon Heong partnership would not be split up permanently.
Just last week, the duo fell to a shock defeat to back-up pair Mak Hee Chun-Tan Wee Kiong in the quarter-finals of the Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold in Johor Baru.
Chin Chai, who is also the coaching and training committee chairman, then explained the coaches’ decision to form scratch pairs at the Kedah Open.
“Kien Keat and Boon Heong have played together for so long. This decision is taken to break the monotony,” he said.
“It will also lessen the pressure on them – after having had to live up to high expectations all the time.
“This brief time being away from each other may just be the right tonic to make them come back together even stronger.
“Sometimes, we tend to appreciate our partner better when we are not together all the time.”
Kien Keat-Soon Hock and Boon Heong-Thien How are in the same half with top seeds Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari-Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif.
In the bottom half are second seeds Gan Teik Chai-Tan Bin Shen, Chan Chong Ming-Chew Choon Eng and two top back-up pairs – Hee Chun-Wee Kiong and Lim Khim Wah-Chan Peng Soon.
It was also confirmed that world number one Lee Chong Wei will skip the opening leg of the national premier circuit.
In his absence, Mohd Hafiz Hashim is the top seed, thus, giving all the aspiring back-up shuttlers their best shot at winning their first local Open title.

    KKK and OSH? OMG...
Now, this is very much more interesting to see who gets the top half. Any of the three pairs, including Fuzzy has a chance to make it to the final. Bottom is also very competitive except Chan/Chew.

Alright, I see. I have heard stories about OSH's attitude that makes him unable to get along with several players?
Anyway, it will be interesting to see how they will fare, although KKK and TBH would be stronger than their partners.

This is interesting as it involves BWF in one corner and BAM in the other corner, www.mmail.com.my/content/43179-whats-real-deal.
BAM's complaint is probably based on why it was not considered among the 5 selected ones, even though it offered the same prize money as another three other countries, England, Denmark, and China.
The reason BWF gave was that BAM did not submit a proper bid.

BAM believe ‘isolation preparation’ can reap success in world meet

    By RAJES PAUL

KUALA LUMPUR: The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) will be sending a 30-member team to Bath University in England from Aug 10-Aug 20 as part of their early preparation for the World Championships, which will be held in Paris from Aug 23-29.
But whether it will be a waste of taxpayers’ money – amounting to thousands of ringgit – or not remains to be seen.
The team include the eight World Championships qualifiers – Lee Chong Wei, Mohd Hafiz Hashim, Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong, Chin Eei Hui-Wong Pei Tty, Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying.
They will be accompanied by seven sparring players (three singles and four doubles), six coaches (Rexy Mainaky, Rashid Sidek, Misbun Sidek, Pang Cheh Chang, Hendrawan and Teh Seu Bock) and team officials as well as a support team from the National Sports Institute (NSI), which hopefully will not be bigger that the badminton squad.
Top Hopes: Malaysia will be banking on world No 1 pair Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong to deliver at the world meet.
BAM believe that their new approach would do a world of good for the World Championships-bound players as training at the Bath University will minimise distractions.
BAM’s target is to have a finalist each in the men’s singles and men’s doubles events although their big dream is to see a Malaysian emerge as world champion for the first time.
Hopes are high on the world number ones – Chong Wei and Kien Keat-Boon Heong – to live up to their top rankings in the singles and doubles events.
BAM secretary Ng Chin Chai yesterday defended their move to send the team to Bath.
“Our post-mortem report (after the Thomas Cup Finals) concluded that training in isolation would be good for the players. There will be less distraction and they can focus more on training. They will be able to get sufficient rest too,” said Chin Chai.
“Besides, the climate and time difference in Paris is similar to that in England. In fact, it is cheaper for us to stay at the Bath University because of the MoU (Memorandum of Undestanding) signed between the university and the Malaysian government.
“Malaysia have never won the world title and we want to stay focused on achieving success there although it will cost us a little more.
“If we fail at the world meet, it will show that we have failed in our processes. But we think, this approach is worth trying.”
BAM general manager Kenny Goh said the team would only be charged £1,300 (RM6,330) for the use of the state-of-art sports facilities at the university.
There will be additional costs for accommodation (ranging from £18-£45 per night), food (£20 per person) and flight.
“The players will be able to use the badminton courts for six hours per day. The use of the swimming pools and gymnasium are for unlimited hours. We believe that this arrangement will be an advantage for our team,” said Kenny.
In 2006, Malaysia spent about RM400,000 to train one week earlier in Madrid for the World Championships in Spain. And the outcome – none got past the semi-finals.
