Okay, I've never taken my racket to get it strung before so I have alot of questions.

So recently I bought a AT 600 (frame) without strings b/c I saw it on sale. I've been reading through some of the threads here and I always saw BG 80 come up as a good overall string.

So what I had in mind was getting it strung at 22lbs with BG 80's.

I would say I'm an all around player, doesn't have the hardest smash (wants to improve it tho), likes dropping shots half of the time.

So I'm wondering if the BG 80 and it strung at 22lbs would kinda improve my ailing smash? Sometimes I am unable to get enough power on my clears.

Also I don't think I would be able to always get it re strung if I don't like it; so if you guys can't suggest anything from what I have here then what is a good average set so I could just use my new racket and adjust to it.

I don't play more then 5hrs a week so durability shouldn't be a big issue.

If you need anymore additional info, I will try my best to get something back at you.

Thank you for all those that are helping.

Level: I would say an early to mid stage intermediate player.
    Plastic.

Who's gonna string it for you?

One of the guys I play with use a AT600 and I got like no power with his BG-80 at around 22lbs. Probably because it is a flexible head heavy racquet. I think some ppl say BG-80 is best at 26lbs + which I agree with.

I was planning to take it to Max Sports at the mall across from Pacific mall. I heard there's another one at first markham place but that's kinda far for me.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I want to go over the limit of 24lbs cuz I am afraid it might break the frame or something.

O and I have another question for everyone. Since I've never purchased and seen the strings out of the box b4, does it actually have Ex: BG 80 printed somewhere on the strings when it's strung on the racket after?

It's in small black text on teh string. Kinda hard to read if you have colors that blend in or it's just rubbed off when you play.

I think AT600 can withstand atleast 26lbs. But ofcouse you would just void the warreentee.

For BG80, 22lbs is too low, will feel weird.

Maybe 23-24lbs for a flexible racket is doable. But make sure the stringer uses an ECP (electronic constant pull) machine to ensure it is the correct tension. If they don't used ECP, go to someone else who does...

Ok, thanks..I just wanted to make sure the correct strings are on it after it's strung.

I'm thinking of getting it strung at 24lbs now b/c doesn't the tension tend to drop after playing with it?

what07: do u know if Max Sports has a ECP machine there.

Doesn't have to be an ECP to be a good string job. The stringer has more to do with quality than the machine.

I would have thought that Max sports in Toronto would have a ECP, machine.
BG80 is a good choice, it doesn't lose tension that much and it's durability, is great aswell, it took me 4months to break it, and that was a clash of rackets followed be a big smash,(don't know what broke the strings the clash or the smash) anyway, they are durable, the optic yellow ones are the best. In my opinion
    BG80@24lbs is good

I don't go to maxsports, since it's too far up north. I string my racquets at 26 or 28 lbs. So it'll probably drop 1lbs and it'll be perfect playing condition.

Since he is not strong player and durability is not a problem, I think BG66 will be much better since it is more repulsive.....Helps with smashes

    I think I'd just stay with BG80.

And last dumb question about the costs.

BG80 are going for $15. Which I have to get when I'm there.

So then for the price of services it says that for BG80's it costs $25.

So how much am I to pay? Is it $15+$25 or is it just $25 do get the string and it strung there?
