China and Malaysia are dominating in the 2010 Asia Youth Under 19 tournament. Out of the 20 spots in the semi-finals, China has 7 spots, and Malaysia 6. The rest are occupied by the usual suspects: Indonesia (3), Korea (1), and upcoming Thailand (3) (applause). Korea is a disappointment as is Japan (0). India (0) failed to deliver even though it had some good seeded entries. Whether the youngsters deliver in the future is up for grabs, for many promising stars do fade away into oblivion, but, a good beginning when they are young bodes well. Excellency does not happen overnight. If the countries consistently churn out potential materials year after year, the fruits can be assured. Other countries may produce a surprise, but they are like finding diamonds in the dust. If you want consistency, you need to work on it.
sorry? upcoming thailand? u know how many slot they get for last year? this year is way weaker so sorry, they are going downhill from the last year graph 2nd,seeding in junior event is nothing zulfadli face the probably the hardest unseeded player at 1st round, and kang ji wook is good enough to be 5-8 seed
Cant evaluate just from AJC, wait till WJC. Plus some players like last year's WJC champ Ratchnok did not take part in WS due to age. She's too young to qualify Youth OG in Aug.
LOL....how many Asian/World Juniors titles have Malaysian players won and how many World Championships titles come from those Asian/World-Junior winning players? Where's Hoon Thien How now? Where's Tan Wee Kiong/Woon Khe Wei now? It's not new.....same old story.
haha ccm is there tbh is there 2007 onward is still too young to tell even hth hold a 2-1 head to head to the mighty LYD at least we have it it show how good bjss is and how sucks bam is same old story
Chan Chong Ming? Going to retirement pretty soon Tan Boon Heong? The sting is no longer there.... Hoon Thien How? Well...no comment as he has nothing to show for yet.
If you've noticed, the original poster resides in Canada. Msians wouldnt say Msia is 'dominating' , that word is fav of a certain member . Indonesia MS is doing well this year, bravo
Er... How about us, mister? Did our juniors also shine in their senior years, winning AE/WC/OG gold? Coz I don't remember.
I would think it wont be easy for her to win though Ratchanok stand a chance. The standard of the GS are higher compared to the boys single this year. She was struggling to win Reddy Sikki before Reddy was injured and I think she will find it tough.
You didnt know ?? To qualify Youth OG is born 1992, 1993 = 17 & 18 this year, Ratchanok is 15. It was in the press, Thailand said she's not in AJC WS cos to give way to her team mates. AJC & WJC are qualifying tourney for Youth OG Ratchanok herself said it's ok, she can have her chance next year.
China and Malaysia continue to dominate in the 2010 Asia Youth Under 19 tournament. They (China (5) and Malaysia (3)) have 8 out of the 10 spots in the finals. Korea and Thailand have 1 spot each. Indonesia losts all the 3 spots they had in SF.
The only surprise from this AJC is Loh WS..........no one expect him to do so well....... Every one focusing on Zul and Ow....LOL
I think the results said it all. China did not performed well at the begining but it is the ending that count. Never thought that they will win the BS. It looked like China have better strategy, understanding and tactics in their game plan. Maybe we should emulate them.
China showed almost complete domination at the podiums of the 2010 Asia Youth Under 19 tournament, 4 first places. China domination at the podiums is expected. Yes, China does show good strategy, and more. And they usually (not always) deliver. Korea took 1. The Koreans have shown that they are not easily intimidated. Excellent attitude. Malaysia ended ended with second fiddle in 3 spots. It is a common feature now; Malaysia can mount a challenge, but usually unable to overcome, becoming the bridesmaid not the bride. The talent is not completely absent, but they are unable to deliver when it matters. Maybe they need to learn from the Koreans (and Japanese) to think positive, to be more tenacious, and being desperate to win.
