hey. just noticed a couple of minutes ago before i was about to string my racket ( 35*35lbs) what it had a big crack there goes down in the frame, im not sure but i looks like the string tension has been too big and has pushed both grommets and racket material down. I'm affraid of stringing it again. I think perhaps that my 12 clock fixing has been a little loose, cause it seemed like the racket started slipping while i started strining. I have only been stringing for about 2 months, and are stringing with a 2 piece string job. plz if anybody has experinced the same, or has a solution to this problem let me know.
you've only been stringing for two months and you're already doing >30lbs. Just wondering, when your strings snapped, was it because of a bad mishit? At that level of string tension with a big mishit, I would not be suprised if the racket cracked.
Actually I've been stringing for a high school and I always get abused racquets from the kids. I noticed Yonex his this problem more than anyone else where the top of the frame will crack and start to sink. The reason my be the graphite used to create the frame and the frame design to not being able to take the stress. But I've only noticed this from Yonex, I only string the ones that the kids ask me to even after I point that out since if the grommet and frame are messed up like that it's going to snap again fast.
I have been watching the stringer of my club, and he have been giving me some advice, but neither him or peter gade could explain why ??
I think the solution here is quite obvious, don't string so high!! Anything above 30lbs is a little crazy for an ArcZ. The frame is pretty thin, so its not surprising that it cracked
Yonex Arcsaber Z-Slash Defect Yeah, I owned a Z-Slash too, strung it a few time (about 5 times) at 24lbs and there it goes. The 11 and 1 o'clock position started to sink in. Such a disappointment. A great racket but VERY VERY much lacking in durability. Sent mine in for claim - sent in a G5 got back a G4 - F***ing frustrating. What the hell are "Tonex - Sunset" Malaysia people is thinking? My stringer said he seen worse of these cases. He recently strung another Z-slash at 25lbs (for the 2nd re-stringing) and yes, the very same spot on the frame sunk in... Wake up Yonex, you claim you are World number 1, but you treat us end-users like dirt. Really disappointed with you.:crying:
kupc-xd, I can't comment on the stringing but have seen the defect (string pulling through frame between grommets). I may sound old but had an Isometric 800 Tour back in the days. The string didn't snap but instead pulled through the frame while playing. I brought it back to the store and later gave me a replacement at no charge. I don't know how they do it but suspect sent it back to Yonex under warranty. You might look into this to see if you can get a free replacement.
G4?!?! That's a good size, you don't need a G5 lol! j/k! Could be a stringer error it sounds like. I had my own Z-Slash stringed up at 25x27, no problem. Also friend doing 27x29, no problems there either.
