I was wondering if someone could help me... Would it generate more power if the lower the tension is?

I'm thinking about doing BG-80 strings with 21/23 tension... or should I do 20/22 tension?

The lower it is, the more power yes?

Currently I'm using BG-80 strings with 22/24 tension. [: If you help me I'll :crying:

Yes but BG80 at the tension you are using, there shouldn't be a problem, I would have thought

    the rule is:

    - the more power YOU have, the higher the tension.

you need to string it to a tension that matches your ability. stringing it to a different tension won't make you stronger.

To get more power, YOU need to get stronger. There is a limit to what equipment will do for you.

I agree with LD Rules. If you were using a really high tension, then lowering it slightly could make a big difference - but you're not.
I still think it's worth trying a lower tension - I'd recommend anyone use the lowest tension they can tolerate (I say "tolerate" because accuracy & control will suffer) - but I doubt you'll see a huge improvement.

a simple way to learn is this:

if your driving a car at gear 1, its easier to generate power, with small amount of energy, however the potential is very low.

if your driving a car at gear 6, you cant reach its potential unless you have the power to unleash it. However if you do have the power to unleash it, you can get incredible power.

Thus, the strong person = high tension = max power
but if its over the top, even a strong person will suffer.

Well... my smashes are pretty weak, and not that strong >_<. So I thought about lowering the BG 80 strings to 20/22.

Do you guys recommend me switching to BG 65 strings with 20/22 tension?

if u read above, smashing power is all about strength, string plays a very minor role, it just follow along with the ride.

I would say your current setup is fine but to get more power practise your techinque(wrong spelling), eat tuna sandwiches and do weights and situps.

Cut a brush handle, drill a hole in it. Get some bunge cord and tie a 4kg weight to the end of it and tie the other end through the hole in the brush handle. Keep rolling that up and down. 50 times 3 and it will do your wrist muscles.

get the empty bar or a very light weight and lay your arm on the table and jest move your wrist up and down.
Another thing to do is the same but hold your arm in the air and do it.
