Not a lot they are almost the same except the stickiness of the tape. Just make sure you know there is one pre cut for badminton and one for tennis.
04-14-2005, 04:26 PM #292
ooo.... So the one that are pre-cut sticks better to the handle easier than the ones in the roll? Or are the pre-cut ones for overlapping your original grip while the ones in the roll are for applying them on the wooden handle?
04-14-2005, 05:04 PM #293
Sorry, I should be more clear on that. These are for over grips. They are wraped over the current grip. The pre-cut is for the length. You can buy replacement grip to replace your origional grip. You can buy tennis replacement grip if you wish. You just need to cut it at the end. THe replacement grip come in 1 grip per pack while the over grip usually comes in multiple grip per pack. Also, the replacement grip is much thicker and much heavier than the overgrip. Putting replacement grip over your current origional grip will shift the balance of the racquet.

Oh.... I see
So replacement grip is for replacing the original grip and overgrip is for wrapping over your original grip...
Just one more question, is yonex supergrap a replacement grip or overgrip?

Damn, I was going to buy it and use it as a replacement grip...
If I do that, will anything bad happen?

That's great! Then you don't need the super absorbant types. Generally, get something cushy if you like to smash alot.

It should be fine... you'll probably need to wrap another layer for more cushion.
Since overgrips are for wrapping over original grips, most of them will not have adhesives on them. Replacement grips, on the other hand, have adhesives on them.

the one on there is the original stock grip for the carlton.
black knight competition grip is the most similar.
theres a wilson and dunlop version that is almost identical too.
lots of variations in thickness and width of the bumps.

if u change your grip style alot during play, i don't think ribbed grips are the way to go
04-28-2005, 06:54 PM #303
There is. AC104EX is the ribbed overgrip.

I have tried to thin down over the last year and was using one karakal cushy/comfy grip wiht one layer of towel.
Now I felt myself losing power and deception so I went back to thick.
2 karakak pu (the thicker one that comes in two colours going across the way) one double layer of grap and then the towel on top.
PERFECT (well for now)

Here I go...
AC102EX Super grap <-- the very common one
AC104EX Wave Grap <--- A post above somewhere on this page said this is a ribbed grip, but.... I don't see any lol
AC105EX Mesh grap
AC133EX Strong Grap
AC117EX Muscle Grip <-- Why's it call muscle grip? anyone have an idea?
What's the prons and cons of the above listed? How will they compare againest others? Which one do you guys prefer?
