they advised me to stop playing badminton for a year and continue receiving treatment at hospital... they'd gave me sumkind of hot pack at my back and ultra-violet treatment.. but it only heal my injury for a while... i still wanna be active in badminton but at the same time i need to overcome the pain as well...
they told me that i have a slip disc at my back bone... everytime i bend my body, the disc will press my nerves n that will causing me severe back pain.. at the moment, they advised me to stop playing badminton for a year n continue receiving treatment at the hospital... they also gave me hot pack at my back n ultra-violet treatment for my back but it only heal my pain for a while.. i really want to be active again in badminton but 1st i need to overcome my injury...
blindaim: yup it's true.. im a big fan of badminton... what about u blindaim? are u a badminton player as well?
blindaim: i got this injury when i was slipped on the court while retrieving a smash from my opponent... and it was really painful...
slipped on the court will have you landed on the butt area , instead of injuring your back. so u cannot bend down only?
ok, what I am about to say is not what I am recommending ...but am only mentioning what I have done in the past few years. I had a disc herniation since I was young (18) and had a surgery then. I stopped playing for 15 yrs, and then started playing. sure enough, the problem came back. Altho bending forward makes me feel better, it is a MUST that you DO NOT bend forward (to make your back feel better). It will only push the disc further out and hitting your nerves. I do all my physiotherapy exercises everyday. At least once a day when the back doesnt hurt, twice a day if it starts to hurt again. When the back is really bad, I do take a break for like a week or 2, after that, if there is still a bit of pain, I play, BUT very defensively i.e. I rarely smash, and I rarely dive for drops etc. I keep my body straight most of the time and just play defensively. I pick games that I know are not demanding ie playing with beginner/intermediate players and not advanced. This way I get to play and exercise. When I take a break, I go on elliptical for about 10 min at the gym. If I feel pain is getting worse at anytime, I STOP completely..not doing anything at all, stop running, stop playing etc. Hope this helps
thanx my fren.. really appreciate ur advise n help... i will try to do sum of the exercise... hopefully it can overcome my back injury... i will update u with my progress ok..
when my back pain from excessive torturing games, I'll do the #17. It works for me. How about some acupuncture? Play with caution even though there are some tempting shots which boost your hormones showing some good shots movement to opposite ***. lol.
