im a big fan of LCW n LD... i love to watch both of them playing in a match where both of them have a different style of game... but if i have to choose either one of them to be a champion, maybe i will put my money on LCW to win it... he has improve a lot since 2008 OG... but LD is still the best player for this decade... and it will be exciting to watch both of them palying each other in the final of WC... :rolleyes:any opinion guys?

at least, i would be happy to see lee chong wei reach the final generally. than i will think about whom i want to win the wc ;)
if you take a look at the draws of last wcs you would see that he didn't perform well at high stage...
so let's hope he will make it this year, after he improved like you said.
on my view a lee chong wei vs. lin dan is the best final in ms..but there are enough player who can take it away from lee chong wei

isegrim: yup, i agree with u.. in previous wc, he lost to sony dwi kuncoro... hopefully he can avoid any upset... as i said, it will be a great match if both LD n LCW meet in the final... :) it reminds me of Yang Yang vs Zhao Jianhua in 80's.. hehehe... if he can beat LD, it will help him to tell his doubters that he deserves to be world no.1 n AE10 champions (not because of luck)... :)

Yoppy: Let us pray that LCW still is injury free til WC... i think he will perform well in thomas cup, but TC is a team event... of course i love Malaysia to win TC but we have to be realistic at the moment... i believe the best bet for us are Asian Games, commenwealth games & WC... come on LCW, u can do it... :)

this thread should be relocated to the Malaysia Professional Players sub-forum or to the 2010 World Championships sub-forum..

As for Datuck LCW's chances, i had mentioned earlier that he's my favorite to win the WC MS title this yr..

We shall see if Lee Chong Wei can reach his first final first :p
He stands a high chance, together with Lin Dan. Another plus for LCW is his recent All-England victory, I think that might give him motivation so he would not be so nervous in the WC semi-final or final stage if he makes it. He also has to be careful of the dark horses like Sony Dwi Kuncoro...

LCW in 2010 is different from 2009. He's simply faster and he's smash return is amazing, 2010 is belong to LCW

LCW and LD could probably be in the same half of the draw

    .
At the 2010 WC, LCW and LD could probably be in the same half of the draw. My guess is that they would face each other at the Semi-Finals, not at the Final.

The only scenario where they could be in the opposite half is if they're seeded #1 and #2. Otherwise it's 50/50 either way.

I think we should be able to tell based on LD's form in the TC. He will have had 2 months to prepare after the Swiss Open. If he performs as mediocre as he did in the European tournaments, there's cause for serious concern.
