Hey i have just strung my racket with a nbg 95 at 21 lbs and found the reviews to be correct, it is kinda slippery. I was wondering, is there any way to kind of "controll" it a bit more? and to not let its slipperyness get in the way of games? Or does it all come down to getting used to the string and learning how to use it better? Thank you, cheers
Yes, i have some nbg 95 on most of my racket. They are my favorite strings. They are slippery at first but after some use, it clam down. I like it becuase it last long, give control and power. Its really one of the best string that i like.
hmmm i think nanogy 95 works best strung at high tension. i dont think its quite as good wen strung below 24. but defo my most fav string, strung at 27, its power and durability is great. slipperyness is not really that much of a problem, in fact it makes it very easy to string.
I was going to open a thread on the subject: I strung with NBG95 at 30lbs (28 x 30) and the string broke 4 times and I had to abandon it. How high can u go with NBG95?
You must be a strong hitter. How does it compare when you use other string? Do you also break them as often? I used only a few YY string in the past, BG66 BG65 BG65Ti and NBG95. I found that NBG95 is the best (so far) as for durability and feel
question I was going to ask in fact: WHAT string to use at this tension which can resist and not break?
It's ok at 26, slippy at the start but you need time for the string to settle. Out of yonex I've strung with though, I find 95 to be one of the more durable strings.
did u mean it snapped 4 times when u were trying to string the racket? iv only snapped ng95 once whilst stringing. and i string around 28, 30 quite often. iv gone through maybe 3 x 20m reels of ng95. and only 1 snappage. maybe ther is a sharp edge on ur string clamp or something? ng95 for me is the most durable string, and only one which can be strung at tensions above 28 with any kind of durability. the only other i find can go that high is bg65 and bg65ti, but for me they fray and would have to be replaced within about 10 hours of playing max(2 weeks). ng95 would last me at least 30-40hours (at least a good month or 2)
As it is on a new racket, I didn't think it was a bad hole/grommet but then after analysis, I found it could well have been. So U say go/persist with the NBG95 at 30lbs? Ok I will try next time. Fortunately or unfortunately here u do not get many requests to string at these high tensions. Mostly 22 to 25lbs
kiloo, what you need is a stronger string, not a lower tension. A lower tension (in comparison to your standard tension) will give you less power, given that your strength stayed at current level. You have to ask yourself first if 30 lbs produce the best power for your strength ATM, if yes then stay with it. If not then perhaps its too high or too low.
Yes, yes, I agree with all that. But what string do u recommend for the 30 pounders? As a stringer Iv been asked already twice to do the job. 1st time I refused, 2nd time I tried with the results mentioned above:crying::crying::crying:. So what string can do the job (pref in the Yonex range). thanx
