Clashed my racket a couple of weeks ago, have not used it much at all since. The more I look at it, the more serious I think the crack is. Pains my heart to look at it too. I only got this late last year (replacing a broken Arc7). It looks like the Arc7 has quite poor durability.

Have a look at these pictures (click on links) and let me know what you think, thanks

I can't tell whether it is just a surface chip or goes deeper.

Sorry mate. Got to say that it is going to be a gonner. One more restring or a hard smash will end the rackets life.

well, i think if you tape it, you will be able to play with it, but as blurry_d mentioned, you wont be able to restring it anymore. But mind you, when you tape it will change the balance point.
and yes, the chip looks quite deep.

sometimes the partner you get is just oblivious to your position on court.

It's on its last legs, but don't chuck it away - it'll do for a backup. I wouldn't try stringing it again, though.

That's true but you also have to cover your behind when you play with people you're not familar with, which includes people who may not be at the same level you're at.

As for the racket, I would say just use it as a training one.

these days i tend to use 'expendable' racquets when playing with someone new, just in case. the heartache is just too much to bear ... :)

Sorry to say that ur racket is not proper to be used no more.Best if u cut the string, otherwise it'll break n the pieces of the graphite might hurt u or someone else.Repair them before u play again or buy a new racket..
