thanks Looh! my company participated in this event last year and it was great fun! info and photos from last year can be found here: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69497
Vow, if BC members form a team including Jona Rasmussen, Thomas Layborun and other pro's, Ebay will have no chance winning this year. So it will interesting to see if Kwun will play for BC or his company.
Bay Area Corporate Badminton Challenge on May 23, 2010 Event: 2010 Bay Area Corporate Badminton Challenge Date: Sunday, May 23, 2010 Time: 8:30am - 9:30pm Venue: Bintang Campbell, 1600 E. Current confirmed participating companies- Cisco eBay Genentech Google IBM Intel Juniper Lam Research Nvidia Oracle Seagate Yahoo Hurry!!! Space is limited.
the list of companies for this year is pretty much finalized, we have a total of 15 large bay area corporation participating in BACBC 2010: Cisco eBay Genentech Google IBM IDT Intel Juniper Lam Research Netapp Nvidia Oracle Seagate VMware Yahoo look forward to seeing everybody there!
yes, and here is the draw: Group A- eBay, Nvidia, Google, IBM Group B- Yahoo, Seagate, Intel, Netapp Group C- Cisco, Genentech, Lam Research, IDT Group D- Oracle, Vmware, Juniper after round-robin play within each group, the top 2 teams will advance to Div A single-elimination playoff and the bottom 2/1 teams will advance to Div B single elimination playoff.
thanks for providing draws details. How will div A & B draws placed.. will it be random or based on how many matches one wins in round-robin play. if its random It could be possible Oracle and ebay top seeds can meet at first Div A single-elimination playoff?
we are using a pretty standard fixed placement for the Div elimination round. the winner of each group will not face each other until later on in the elimination. one thing to point out is that the 4 seeds, ebay, yahoo, cisco and oracle are seeded and placed in the group according to their seed status (separately). however, their placement in the Div elimination round will be determined by their performance in the group and not by their seeding. so it is still possible for ebay to meet oracle if either team do badly in their group. this i think is pretty standard stuff. we don't want to do any random nor performance based placement.
