MAS has 1 MS, 2 MD, 1 WS, 1 WD, 1 XD Muhammad Hafiz Hashim vs Boonsak Ponsana Can Hafiz make a second upset? Don't think so. Mak Hee Chun/Tan Wee Kiong vs Chen Hung Ling/Lin Yu Lang If Mak/Tan can play like today, they have a chance against Chinese Taipei Harry Potter and partner. Their toughest challenge so far, after passing stern Japanese test. Hoon Thien How/Ong Soon Hock vs Cho Gun Woo/Yoo Yeon Seong Koreans are a better pair, can MAS create another upset? They beat the second seeds, now they should aim to beat the 5th seeds although the Koreans will be the toughest challenge yet. Wong Mew Choo vs Saina Nehwal Mew Choo was struggling in the second round against Zhang Beiwen, while Saina dominated Julia. Revenge chance for Saina Nehwal for Super Series Masters Finals defeat to Mew Choo. Vivian Hoo/Woon Khe Wei vs Meiliana Jauhari/Greysia Polii Seeing how Vivian and Khe Wei struggled, I think INA WD will win. Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying vs Hashimoto Hirokatsu/Fujii Mizuki Big upset for Thai XD! I think CPS/GLY can win it against JPN...but tricky... I hope at least 1 MD and 1 from other event, perhaps XD, make it through.
now I try to make prediction for Ina's camp........well, there's not that many survivors, unfortunately but lets make the best out of it... WD Greysia-Meiliana vs Vivian/Woon K W Ina pair slightly good on the edge, lets say 60-40 debutante Anneke/Annisa vs the well seasoned campaigner Cheng W H/Chien Y C well, if they can steal one set from Tpe pair, that'll be a bonus....though it might be hard... XD Devin/Lily vs Yohan/Tse Y T good performance so far by the scratch pair, lets see if can maintain it to the final... Ahmad T/Greysia v Yoo Y S/Kim M J it will be bonus for Greys if she can do well on both disciplines, and the chances are good as long as the schedules are not weird..50-50
If I have to only choose one MD to make it through, I will choose Mak/Tan. They have an easier SF compared to Hoon/Ong. It would be great if both win though, and I'm hoping for a double upset for these two to make the semi-finals. If those two can play like yesterday, I confident that they can do it.
Schedule is up. Matches begin at 4 p.m. Malaysia time Beginning with Boonsak Ponsana vs Muhammad Hafiz Hashim Mak/Tan and Hoon/Ong matches are played one right after the other on the same court I'm counting on a good Mak/Tan result to motivate Hoon/Ong
Last meeting was Super Series Masters Finals, where Mew Choo beat her in rubber games. But Mew Choo not in top form any longer, and Saina has the home crowd behind her Hope more from Mak/Tan and Hoon/Ong
Hope that all Malaysians proceed, including Hafiz He seems to be in good form, beating NTM, and Boonsak is not in form ( By the looks of his match yesterday when he vs Andre )
For Malaysia fans: I think you should give a full sopport to Hafiz, 100%, don't think about his lazy any more, he will do the second upset! If any one know about "controversy of Thai badminton", can tell me?
I'm not too sure on what is with Thai badminton, but I think there was an issue where players are not allowed to have their own sponsors or something, so Boonsak Ponsana and a few other shuttlers were not happy and left the national team. Yes, I guess it is not time to criticize, but throw support behind Hafiz as he takes on Boonsak Ponsana, 40 minutes later. See you all. I'll be going off until 3:55 or so
Undeadshot, You know what happen to me from match between NTM-Hafiz to know, i talk you you and other many times so now, i feel in love your team, i will support for Hafiz although before yesterday, i don't have any idea to do this support!
hafiz We as Malaysians would love to support Hafiz, but his attitude is like a YOYO. And you know how that is, when a YOYO goes UP, the only way to go is DOWN. This is the same as yesterday's high UP result against NTM, now the only way the YOYO can go is DOWN. Hopefully his yoyo was only halfway up yesterday, so he can cause another upset today.
Thanks! That makes it another 1 more MAS supporter! I hope Vietnam can do much better in the future too. The matches are starting really soon, can't wait!
