Hey guys! So recently i got a Brave Sword 09, and my friend; after long consideration, has decided he wants to get a new racket. He has only used Medium Flex rackets so far and seems to have trouble generating power with a stiff racket, today when he tried a few rackets such as the Nanospeed 9000 and he had trouble generating enough power for his smashes. His budget is around $200 and he typically does doubles like me, and tries to smash a lot. the racket's design matters A LOT to him (Everything has to look nice for him), so could you guys be so kind as to give me a few suggestions to give him for what racket he should get?

USD$200 will definitely be enough for a very good racket but the racket design is subjective...how would we know if your friend likes the design.

One more thing, the NS9000 he used, was it the S or the X? The S is not a very stiff racket so if he finds that too stiff, perhaps something like AT600, NS6000 would be good since those are rated as 'flexible'.

Okay, so the other friend that my friend borrowed the NS9000 from said it was a NS9000 S, my friend is currently staring in awe at the Brave Sword 11 and the Arcsaber 8DX (Although he knows he can't handle the Extra Stiff-ness). Anyone care to suggest any other rackets or toss out their advice? A question that my friend and i have been wondering for awhile is, about when is one able to use a "Stiff" racket to a good extent?

Hm.. There aren't that many quality Yonex rackets that aren't stiff. Maybe Arcsaber 7 or Nanospeed 6000?

Victor Inside Wave 6500. Flexible, but still felt I could generate good power.

Haha! You guys are good! My friend instantly fell in love with the Arcsaber 100 LTD's design, do you have any other racket recommendations? It would be nice to have a list to start comparing which one is more suited for him.

There are many (many) non-stiff Victors to pick from - for example, the Super Wave 33C is really well judged. I would also rate the Carlton VT Tour on looks (but not much else;)). Also, the new NS6000 is a seriously sexy racket in person, and it's about as bendy as they come.

With 200 US in your pocket, though, you could buy pretty much anything, so you might want to check out some Li Nings as well - according to the Li Ning paperwork most of them aren't particularly stiff.

Has he tried your BS09? That's quite good-looking and isn't too stiff:D. Can't say I like the 100LTD, as IMO it doesn't look like a proper Arc, but to each his own.

Not too sure where you live and what brands are available to you but here's my recommendation based on your feedback (budget, design, flex) :

    Carlton - Vapour Trail series
    Yonex - Arc100 Limited, AT600
    Victor - SW33C
    Kumpoo - 2100 Hexagon

If looks are what your friend is after, then he's gonna wet himself when he sees the Li Ning 300C, a photo attached here as taken by Easy Tiger!:D

Woha! It's like a gold Nanospeed 9900! Haha, my friend has his heart set on the Arcsaber 8DX but isn't that racket Very Stiff? I will repeat my question once more, how does one know he is ready to use a stiff racket? If anything it seems as though everyone "good" that we know of uses a Stiff racket. Would the arcsaber 8DX be at the very least usable for my friend who has only used Medium-Flex rackets his whole... badminton career? or will using the Arcsaber 8DX most likely kill his arm. I forgot to mention, we are high school students and the only "classes" we get is from drilling with the rest of our High School team.
