given the depth of CHN squad, their Team A would have a sure win this year... even against the best from the rest of the world... maybe we should discuss, which CHN team (Team B? Team C? Team D...) could give other teams a good chance (say up to 50%) to win the Uber Cup?
The last time, I think we 'assessed' on which country to be runner-up. Like that more points to discuss
Seems to me like they just wanna brag about their country dominance in badminton... P/S: I love the term "n-th" time in a row.
you are rite for Team C, but not Team B, let's just put them up in the order of WR: Team A: WS: WYH, WL, WX WD: MJ/WXL, DJ/YY Team B: WS: WSX, JYJ, LL WD: CS/ZYL, TQ/PP Team C: WS: ZL, LXY, LX WD: ZYW/?, WSY/ZJK but even Team C may be able to make QF or SF...
well, can you blame us? but for this year, CHN should have a very young/inexperience team, best chance for the others to have a go for years. i mentioned that before, as for the Uber Cup its about time to change the format to CHN against the best of the rest of the world. even that, its difficult to get a team to beat CHN in the near future.
..this is my response to any further assessment on CHN's UC chances for this yr: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
My assessment? China will win this edition and at least the next 3 editions. That's another 6 years of domination at least ...... wakakakaka.
I am sure Team C will still win the Uber Cup. Their top three singles will be too strong for Korea / Indon / HK. Even if they drop a point ZYW + partner will still beat the top non-chinese pair in the world. In fact Team D comprising of recent retirees like XXF, ZJJ, ZN, YW/ ZJW, ZTT/GL will probably also win the Uber Cup! Perhaps they should send Team E (their junior players)- CXJ, SD, XH/TJH etc. Probably still reach the semis.
BWF can present the UBER Cup to China NOW, no need for China to send any team... Less Jet Fuel use... less harm to the environment.... EARTH DAY!
With you on this one, 6 years is a long time...migrate and play for another country, possible but no too...like Zhou Mi has a 2 yr sit out time imposed when she moved to HK which is part CHN...therefore should an ex-CHN player migrate, the sit-out time and to get citizenship status would he/she an old fella with not much playing time left. Better follow Sing, if cannot beat them, recruit them young, hire CHN coach and hope for the best...not bad strategy when Sing table tennis girls are #2 in world.
Even if CHN team brings back those "semi-retired" senior players, they can still retain the UC... This is how far they are ahead of ROW (Rest of World)
