There used to be one songstress who came on and then disappeared - Jordan Hill - apparently she wasn't promoted properly, so the eponymous album was the only one that ever appeared.

I'm not a fan per se but I happen to like TLC a lot.
As for rap music, I used to listen to P.Diddy & Mase's work back then.
And of course, Boyz II Men - 'II' being one of my favourite albums.
I like the British group Eternal as well.

Asian-wise; Brown Eyed Girls (before they went all techno & dance).

I like french hiphop . But I haven't kept up, the last new name for me was Booba a few years ago? NTM probably my favorite ...
If you want to discover something old but so good: Show & AG and perhaps also Diamond D. Swedish hiphop is also pretty good btw ;). The wackest s**t out there is danish :p.
Something german that was pretty good but not around anymore: R.H.P.

'Boyz II Men, ABC, BBD' ... :p:cool:

:D How can I forget some dutch hiphop: Opgezwolle (check Hoedenplank -> bassss ;)) and Opposites

Yeah Booba relesead an album last year I believe , called "0.9".
I like NTM too (do you understand what this name mean ???), it was a good band in
the 90's, but now Joey Starr (the leader) had last year some problems with justice :s and Kool Shen released a solo album last year "crise de conscience" but it was said to be a not so good one...
This year the band has their first concert in a big stadium, they'll sing their old sings there :)

Yeah Sniper I know of too. Could've sworn I bought that Alliance Ethnik cd but don't see it here. My french is not worth mentioning :D but if it's not too quick I can understand the general idea. French hiphop just works. THe flow, the beats, don't even need to know french to like it. Also bumped into Diam's cd last year I think or maybe two years ago already. Suprisingly many videos to be found on Vidzone on PS3.

I'm quite fond of Hip-Hop and associated genres. Mos Def is one of my favourite artists, along with The Sound Providers who are a jazz-hop group.

Do you know Diam's released an album this year ? It's "S.o.s".
Today the new album of B.o.B is out, and so is the single of The Game, "it must be me", featuring Pharrel :)

I like Mos Def too, I discovered him by his last album,Ecstatic. I love "auditorium", "supermagic" and "twilightn speedball" :)

I'm mostly into hip-hop influenced electronics like Prefuse73, Daedalus, Hudson Mohawke. Or just Beats, like Floyd the Locksmith, Aphilas or the Instrumental Album from Apollo Brown "Make Do".

*Destricto_Ense*if you like Soundproviders, check E Reece & Core Elements "Lisn 2 This" and The Jazz Liberators.

For Classics it's The King of Soul James Brown, Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye and so on and on...
Here's a less known one: Willie Hutch - The Mack

As French is concerned, I like TTC or Keny Arkana.

Yep, The Ecstatic was how I became interested in his stuff. Couple of days ago I was going to a Mos Def gig in London but my flight from Dublin was cancelled because of the ash cloud

ahh, nas is good but i think his classic songs/albums were his best. Illmatic, I am and Nastradamus are some of his best albums in my opinon. i like his songs "The world is yours" and "Nas is like" :D He was really popular in those days, but nowdays hes not as well known and i think his old albums are alot better than his new ones :p

R.H.P. :p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGhmVgL-Hj0&feature=related I only heard this version from the live album, not sure if it was a bootleg. Check out the other songs as well by the same uploader ..

Also bumped into some other french artists in my collection: 3eme Oeil, L'Skadrille, Shurik'n, Sinik, couple more and a backup copy of my Illmatic cd :). Plus a load of Saian Supa Crew . There's some good stuff from Japan as well that I heard on internet radio but not in my collection yet ...

i'm too a Sinik fan, do you know he had a featuring with James Blunt ?

The video sounds well, it's like a rap-jazz-rock mix :)
