Hi to all. I am a beginner badminton player who is looking for a cheap but good racket to use. i am looking at the Nanospeed 100 and the Muscle Power 10. Which is better? i prefer playing offensive. Meaning more towards smashing. Please advice. Thanks

What is your reason for choosing ns100 instead of the ms10?

Go for apacs nano 900 power. Perhaps, can consider wilson k factor series. Really worth your money in paying slightly more.

    reason for choosing ns100

    1. MP10 is an Aluminium frame racket which is a big No No for me.
    2. I tried NS100 and found reasonably good (Value for money)
But I would ask you to try other brands like Ashaway. For the money you would pay for an entry level Yonex, you can buy a very good racket from Ashaway which is comparable with mid to top end range of Yonex. I have a Yonex MP99 (Around 120$) and Ashaway TP990 (45$) I do not see much of a difference and if you ask me which one is better, I really have no clear answer.

Get your facts right. MP10 isn't aluminium. It's Graphite.

Any graphite racquet will do for you. Technique will benefit you more if you want powerful smashes.

The ns100 is a flexible shaft. Does it mean smashes will be better?

no, it just means its easier to flex.
meaning it provides assistance for weak hitters.
hard hitters benefit more from stiffer shafts.

    ns100

Per yonex website, NS100 is aluminium frame and graphite shaft.

i think yonex nanospeed 500 is a very good best bang for the buck racket from yonex.

Agree with phandrew. Just get a full carbon graphite racket from any brand. Everyone else will give you a much better deal than Yonex. In Singapore, there are ample good brands like Victor, Ashaway, Sintec, Apacs, Proace, etc.

I'm quite sure on the Yonex website, it says graphite for the frame, graphite/carbon nanotube for the shaft.

for the most part you're gonna get more racket per dollar from other racket companies than yonex. from the tournament that i just attended recently, lots of players used victor and from what i've heard, they are just as good. but if you must own a yonex, nanospeed would be a good racket for doubles because they tend to be either even balanced or head light balanced, at least that's what it felt like playing with a few nanospeed when i was testing out rackets.

I also agree with this post. I keep seperate racket for singles and doubles.

For singles, where I need a lot of power in my punch clears, I use a head heavy racket (At700, AT30).

But for doubles, I use a more even balanced\head ligh racket. Reason-Doubles, you do not want to clear, Instead you would be driving alot. Also you need to be quick on your defence and net play. Nanospeed 500 would surely do. I use MP99 & Ashaway TP990, because, those are hard hitters as well.
