Well, I bought a Yonex ArcSaber 7 3u g4 a few days ago and wonder what would be the best grip for me.. I play now with AC102 but my hands are little and the handle feels a bit "fat" for me, the manoeuvrability isn't that good... Has anyone tested Babolat Vs grip ? You use ArcSaber or have little hands, what grip do you use ? Should I try a towel grip ? thanks in advance
I always recommend a towel grip to all the people I meet. Everyone sweats so it is unavoidable. thickness can be controlled by removing original wrap but the towel flattens down over use. I remove the towel grip often for a wash and regrip using double sided tape. I've done this so many times, I don't even remember anymore. Saves money on buying replacement grips.
RKEP (Racket Experts) grips from ebay are excellent and economical compared 102EX. Do a search on this forum... there was a thread a few days ago on it.
there's no specific grip for a specfici racket. I use a ns9900 with ac102ex super grap over the original. I just don't overlap. and it feels like soft leather after a while I like it.
i dont think yonex overgrip is that economical. by a matter of fact, i dont think yonex super grip is much better than other brands out there, but its just that its more expensive. i recommend karakal, babolat, and RKEP.
I'm not sure whether you guys hear before Ashaway overgrip. Have been using it for 2yrs and very comfortable with it inexpensive too IMO. It's only around SGD$1.80
In that case, you shoulda gotten a G5 grip size. For your G4, you can always remove the factory grip and wrap the 102ex over the raw wooden handle.
Most over grips are the same thickness so it doesn't matter which brand you use, if you feel the grip is too fat then you're going to have to either find a G5 or try some of the suggestions. My much do you overlap the grip? Try removing the factory grip and putting the overgrip directly on the wooden handle.... etc.
I have to agree that your hands are probably too small to use the G4 with overgrip. Most likely recommend you swapping it out with the G5 then overgrip that. This should be much better. Trying to take off orignal stock grip then overgrip it that way, I would not recommend because of part of the cushioning/shock absorbtion is gone with the stock missing. G4 works fine to me and I use to use G5 which I found out was too small for me. I still have my Arc7 3UG5 but no longer used.
thinner as opposed to not removing the original grip and applying an overgrip on top? towel grips are much thicker than overgrips though so I don't think it will help much.
you could try the kimoni grips. there is one kimony grip htat is 1/3 mm thick, supergrap is .6mm you could also try pulling hte grip more when gripping the racket so that it is thinner
Actually I have choose the VS Grip Original of Babolat. 3 overgrips in a plastic box (very comfortable to keep it in the bag).. Mine are white, it cost about 5.50€ I think. The grips are 0.4mm, whereas ac102 is 0.6mm, and I should say I feel the difference ! The touch feeling is dry, very comfortable actually.. Let's see if this is durable or not in a few days...
