Hello everyone, I'd like to buy new shoes but I do not know what to take. I wish that there was better at Yonex. I also know the difference (besides color) between SHB 100 and SHB 100 LTD, SHB 101 and SHB 101 LTD. Are limited options are really limited (quantity produced) or is this a name? Can I get information about SHB 99? The SHB 99 shoes are they Chong Wei? If you can advise me on other models, do not hesitate. Thank you in advance 1Badiste
I wear Asics Gel Tactic and have them for nearly one year now, playing 5 to 6,5 hours a week, they are still in good shape. Also Asics' reputation for damping and stability is good. Price is OK, but not cheap. As for comfort, if you feel Yonex doesn't suit you, try a different brand. If it's rather a durability issue but they fit like a 2nd skin, I wouldn't bother experimenting. When my Asics are through, I will maybe try Karakal XS 303, these are slightly less expensive.
My shoes are the current SHB 91. My feet are not wide. I play about 15 hours per week (but the durability is not my priority). I will not take anything other than Yonex anyway. I know they are the differences between the SHB 100, 101 and Limited (100 LTD and 101 LTD) and have opinions on other top models (But only Yonex).
I actually find it interesting that you will only look at Yonex shoes... Personally I wouldn't buy a badminton racket from Asics but no one blinks twice about buying shoes from Yonex. Who do you think knows shoes better? In the end I'm not saying Yonex doesn't make good shoes, just that the idea that other companies, especially those that specialize in making shoes, can't make as good or better shoes is pretty funny. This is, of course, only if your past the entire "brand is everything" part of your life and look for functionality, durability and value before the label.
You'd say... I always had Mizuno socks. Next I fell in love with Mizuno shoes, their tees (okay, I have a lot of ZELM Tees as well), then shorts and finally Mizuno rackets... I just need my wrist band to say Mizuno to have their "complete warrior set"... Well any brand is okay as long as it's Mizuno... or ZELM.
I would recommend the SHB85EX from central sports. i got the for £48 and the are the best set of shoes that i have ever had. Defiantly worth a look at
Thank you for your answers but I'd like more details on the models you advise me. Why SHB 85? Did you try other Yonex shoes in order to compare? If you recommend a model, I would like to find out why they are there and the differences compared to another model. Again, I want the Yonex, I'm a fan of this brand and I know they make great shoes.
Before I had my SHB85 i was using a midrange pair from yonex (cant remember the model) they were great but then i started to grow out of them so i decided to get a good pair. in comparision the SHB85s are lighter a better fit as i have a wider than normal foot very comfortable and can wear the for ours and also very breathable. they have the 3 layer power cushion so thats a definite plus in my books and a good grippy sole.
In my opinion, there isn't much difference between each of the models if you consider high end vs hign end models. Sure Yoenx says that there are new technology but in reality, they don't make much of a difference. As long as you get a pair that fits you well then I think its all good.
Best Shoes in my opinion are the SHB-99 LTD I've had: SHB-100, SHB-101 but out of those 3 I think the SHB-99LTD are the best. However they are really hard to be purchased these days, since they aren't produced anymore
