I'm writing an article about left-handed players in world badminton. There are many left-handers between men - Lin Dan, Bao Chunlai, Fu Haifeng, Wong Choong Han, Matthias Boe, Joachim Persson, Marc Zwiebler... but I wasn't able to find any left-handed woman - it seems to me like all the best women are right-handed. Could you please help me and name some other left-handed players, especially women? And I would also appreciate tips on famous left-handers from older badminton history, if there are any...
Zhao Jian Hua is the most famous Left Hander IMO. Women? Can't think of any off the top of my head......
4. Kamilla Rhytter Juhl? 5. Sho Sasaki? 7. Zhu JingJing Should becareful when looking from photos though, they can be flipped so a right hander looks like a Lefty on the photo.
All are original... 1. Bae Youn Joo (KOR) 2. Chau Hoi Wah (HKG) 3. Tan Chun Seang (MAL) 6. Tanongsak SAENSOMBOONSUK (THA)
Don't forget Yang Yang (CHN), who was also dominant during Zhao Jianhua's time. Also, don't forget to include Tan Boon Heong (MAS)!! (Some bolehers would be proud of his "world record smash" achievement.. (others would say it is not in a match condition) kekeke ) Good luck on the report. There is actually a scientific study stating that left-handedness is rarer among women in general, compared with men... wikipedia is a good source for research on "left-handedness".
Another lefties Players from MO2010 collections. Hope this help. 8 & 10 (MAL) 11 (MAL) mentioned by limsy 9 (IND) mix double specialist

i think the OP was looking, in particular, for left handed women players. and yeah, i'm sure he has his answer now ...
Thank you all for your tips, you have been great help for me. You've came up with some names, but it still seems to me, that there are not many left-handed women players on the world competitions compared to men... The statistics are similar at the top national level here in Czech republic (I'm from Prague). It's interesting...
"Only approximately seven percent of the population is born as southpaw and the majority of this group is male." Simple numbers game then Same in tennis isn't it? Well I guess there have been more lefty winners there (Navratilova, Seles, older?)
