Hi from New Zealand
I’ve been a fan of BC for a while now..reading the posts on the different tournaments, techniques, strategies, etc.. Finally registered in BC today!
A bit about myself - I’m a Malaysian living in NZ.. been here for a while now – since 1993. Go MAS for TC in 2010!
Started playing badminton again in 2007 after a break since 2000 (university and high school days) felt that my fitness was going downhill by sitting in an office looking at a computer screen all day. And now in 2010, am playing at least twice a week – at a badminton club night, at a privately organised game with some friends on a Sat and in the right season of the year in a business house league. Have probably been the fittest I’ve ever been (not that I was much of a sporty person in the past anyway..haha).
Just wanted to say..G’day!

Welcome to BC! Wow... I saw you play the other day, and you have an awesome drop shot that would make LCW blush with envy!!
Will you be my coach?? Please? Can you teach me??
And that's an awesome racquet you've got there man... When I grow up, I wanna be just like you!!

Glad that you've emerged from the lurking shadows to begin posting in the bright sunny meadows of Badminton Central.
Keep having fun and staying fit!
(btw, were you born in a typhoon in 1980?)

Very Farnee Kevin79.. Yes - I do have an awesome racket - thanks to you! Considering that you are older than me - I don't know how you can be like me when you grow up!
Thanks for the warm welcome Fidget! Yes you are right born in 1980. My nick is just a play on my surname.. Although I do smash like a typhoon..haha..jokes!

Did you know that the word typhoon comes from Hakka or Cantonese for "big wind"?

I was actually thinking about the speed and power of a typhoon vs not knowing where the smash is going..haha. Although sometimes it can be like that for me..
