    hi
About two days ago I got a really sore arm that doesnt seem to hve went away. It's rather sore and it goes from my elbow up to the shoulder, it sort of goes and comes back every so often, further more I hve a tournament tomorrow, and I need to play my best, it's not tennis elbow as that is more sore (have had it in the past) this is less sore and more annoying than painful. Any ideas as to what to do ?

Difficult to diagnose from here. Ideal if you could have someone lay hands on you: your coach, a trainer/phyio/doc.
Have you tried ice and Ibuprofen?

nope, ice and ibuprofen I am going to have later, but it feels like I have pulled a muscle in the arm, just below the elbow, and I can feel sometimes a pain in the shoulder. Hopefully ice and ibuprofen will work.

By "below the elbow" do you mean distal (ie closer to the hand)?
Is it the front of your shoulder? Side? Back?
Does the pain "run" up to your shoulder or is there a gap between your pains.
    Be as specific as possible.

    1. closer to the hand
    2. Side of the shoulder
    3. There is a gap between pains elbow one is more painful than shoulder pain.

    Questions questions and more questions:rolleyes:

Does the shoulder pain hurt when you abduct your shoulder (lift out to the side )? If so, at what level? 45degrees? 90deg?

Is the elbow pain lateral (like tennis elbow), medial, posterior (on the tip) or antecubital (where they take blood)? What mvt hurts: pronation, supination, wrist flexion, wrist extension, elbow extension, elbow flexion?

    1. Shoulder doesn't really hurt that much, only when I move my arm.
    2. Lateral like tennis elbow, but it doesn't hurt that much, hurts when I type. elbow extension is quite sore as well.

    Final analysis:
    ........
    ...tough to say.

If it bothers you typing then it probably is a bit of tennis elbow because most of us are extending our wrists as we type (unless we learned properly or took piano:p). But pain on elbow extension could be a triceps tendon thing, or a nascent olecranon bursitis.

My considered prescription is still ice and ibuprofen. Remember to stretch carefully tomorrow before and after your warm up. Pay attention to your wrist, elbow and shoulder stretches.

    GOOD LUCK!:):)

it feels like the muscles in my arm are tightning, when I type as opposed to relaxing.
I am going to take some ibuprofen just now and apply ice tomorrow morning, I will do all the arm streches, and take more ibuprofen in the morning.

    Thanks for the help.
