What are some different ways to change the rules a bit so that players of different abilities to play together and keep it interesting for both? I have found a mixed doubles partner I like and we are just starting to play together. She does not have enough power to hit clears from back court to back court. Right now I just don't hit it deep and then the game becomes quite good, she is able to attack well enough that I have a hard time switching from defending to attacking. I would however like to play my very best but if I did I would just overwhelm her, which would not be very fun for either one of us. Changing the lines that both of us play is an obvious thing. She gets the doubles serving line as her back line and the front service line and that sort of thing. Anyone have any other suggestions? regards Kevin
She would kill me if she only had to cover half court, she's not that bad, same with the backhands. I actually hurt my right arm last year so I played a couple of times with my wife using my left hand. It was pretty ugly, my new partner would have to give me half court.
I tot she cant do back to back. so half court shd be fine. Or train her up. u can only hit to the base lines. No front shots.
No, don't change the rules. Instead try using a faster speed shuttle. For every speed change the distance is 30cm or about 12". I have used speed 78 when speed 77 is the required speed in games when there are many women, because women cannot hit as far as men. The men can then adjust their power.
