So recently my mom went to HK and I told her to get me a nanospeed 9900 since it was cheaper in HK. She remembered on her last day and had to get it right before she went to the airport for her flight back to Canada, because of this she had to go somewhere else instead of the e78 shop I told her to go. It looked pretty authentic and it still does but some doubt arose when my friend told my teacher I got an expensive racket and he asked to see it. He started inspect it and then he called everyone over and said that it didn't have fiber glass reinforcements by the top grommets and it was fake. This hurt my pride a little after paying such a high price. So now I'm asking the BC community if this is fake.
So the NS series doesn't have fiber glass reinforcements? And I was also wondering cuz the PBSI logo looks a bit lower and it overlaps the weight and grip size. Is it supposed to be like that?
Just double checking on that last part right now as a matter of fact. I remember seeing it before ... Any idea what shop it was bought from in the end? And perhaps you can peel of the square hologram sticker covering the cone code but the search function doesn't seem to be working like before so not a priority ...
What does he mean fiberglass reinforcement? Also, how does the spec 19~24 show on top/through the PBSI sticker? Let's resolve these 2 items before I will make my call.
It was bought in a sports department store called Giga Sports. It's quite famous in Hong Kong but the PBSI issue is what's making me suspicious. I'll peel it off right now and take a picture. EDIT: Peeled it. Quite a messed it caused, was hard to take off and impossible to get off residue. The cone serial is 201192SP. If I remember correctly starting in 2009 the spec stickers were removed and started to be engraved like the serials. To tell you the truth I have no idea what he meant by fiber glass reinforcements.
The racquet with its serial numbers and other details looks authentic based on my experience. What kind of teacher do you actually have, lol? I wonder if he even collects and knows real Yonex racquets (you should have questioned him on spot, it's the students' right to explore the teacher's teaching), or does he do all his racquet shopping at Sport Check What he did in terms of hurting your pride is just plain wrong.
As far as i can see its a real NS9900. The holograms are transparant enought to see through. The codes make sense and everything else looks fine. I think you teacher only knows how to play but dont know much about racket.
instead of replying to the PM you sent me, ivwill just reply here, 201192SP (20th of November 2009) with a serial of 8905028 would suggest the racket is legit The PBSI sticker is at the end of the day just a sticker, the people that are making these rackets in Japan, are probaly under immense pressure to produce x amount of rackets a day, so I wouldn't be too worried about a sticker My reccomendation is that the racket is legitimate
