Hi all, This thread will be bit of my coursework so please, whoever reads this take the time to answer, would love as many answers as i can, as all replies will be in my coursework. 1. How many hours do you play per week? If you know how much that this comes to per week also money wise, that would be a great help. Regards, Matt
2 1/2 hours on Saturday - 12 - 2:30pm 8 hours on Sunday (Sometimes) - 8am - 1pm 3 Hours on Monday - 7pm - 10pm 3 hours on Wednesday - 7pm - 10pm 16 1/2 hours.
Hmm lets see - on the normal week Monday - free Tuesday - 2hours Wednesday - 2-4 hours (depends on how long the match takes) Thursday - 1 hout Friday 2 hours Saturday 4 hours (i coach kids with my dad) Sunday free (sometimes tourney's tho) Total - 11-13 hours - say 12 hours on average it costs me £1.50 each time i play apart from matches which cos £2 and Saturday is free. if i'm away there's travel costs on wednesday which can be anything from £10 upto £30 . on average it probalby cost me £20 a week Hope this helps Neil
now about 4 hours per week. Court time costs about 1$ a week (that's not including the $200 facility maintainence fee every 4 months)
Mondays: Afternoon (School Training) - 3 hours max Night - 2 hours Thursdays: Night - 2 hours Saturday: Morning (School Training) - 3 hours max Sunday: Afternoon - 3 hours Total = 10 to 13 hours
These are approximate stats for my wife and I. Time/week = 8-11 hours each Costs/week = $25 club membership +$8 Feather Shuttles ======================== Total Cost/week = $32 CAD (or $16 each) Then there are other costs like stringing etc. but to break them down per week would be a pain since we only re-string every 2-3 months. And mind you that's not 11 hours of full playing time. If you consider the amount of time waiting between games, actual playing times would be significantly less.
For the last 2 months, I'v been playing only once (3 hours) a week due to my project which I mentioned in an earlier thread that asked the same question. How often do you play? Occasionally, I play twice a week. But I should be playing more often after this Wednesday because I've to hand up my project by then!
Matt, I play about 5 hours per week (2x 2.5hr club nights) plus about 2 hours per week matches (averaged over a season) Costs are about UKP 160-ish club fees per season plus...bloody hell this is a real pain in the ass calculation ... UKP 3 per match, I guess about 16 matches per season. Then summer club is UKP 4 per session, so probably about UKP 50 for the summer. Raquets, Shoes, Petrol, Snacks, etc probably about another UKP 150/ year. It is left as an exercise for the reader to calculate the weekly expenditure
Playing Time: Monday 2 hours Wednesday 1 hour Friday 2 hours occasionally (maybe once every 2 months) Sunday 1 hour plus away matches...call it 20-ish hours per year Playing Costs: Monday + Friday is a club which costs approx 150 GBP per year for courts & shuttles Wednesday is social so about 5 GBP between 4 people 1 GBP per match so an extra 20-ish GBP per year Equipment Costs: wild guess...approx 200 GBP per year (if I bought 1 racquet per year)
Let's see...I only play badminton 1 or 2 times a week. 1. 2-4 hours 2. About.... RM30-50. I think. lol.
4 hours per week in one session on thurs 8:00pm to 12:00am..... $3.50 AUS which is prolly 1.10 pounds
1. I play 6 hours a week. 2. Cost -< about $3.5 US per week for club fee, which includes Nylon birdies. Also gas fee, which I estimate to be $2 US per week.
K think I break the record here A grand total A large sum A shocking number of 1 AND 1/2 hours thats the lessons every saturday if anyone actually plays during the week and plays less than I do I'd like to hear it.
Just a suggestion. I think u might need to practice a little bit more on urself, besides the lessons. A little bit extra practice and make u have real understanding of what u've learned in class. It's the same as doing some homework after school, will help u have better understanding of all the things u heard in classroom. Also, once u found out some problems during ur own practice, u can bring the questions up in ur proper training to ur coaches. They will help u to correct ur mistakes. This way, save $$$ and double efforts. Bonus, more chance to talk with ur "babe coach"...
haha mat, have fun converting all the currencies!! i do friday: 2 hours saturday: on and off 6 hours - $4CDN i don't pay for gas, but i do travel about 1 hour for the whole week. and shuttles i don't use feather so plastic tubes every few weeks

SHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh QUIET.. btw I don't even do my hwk I failed my 3rd exam today so yea LOL I would like to practise once a month I get to go to ymca with some friends, joy! after exams are over, I think our school might have "drop-in" badminton twice a week in the morning I sure hope so so I could practise more!
