The BWF has released the entry lists for the fifth leg of the Super Series. China's top shuttlers will not be making the trip to the Lion City for the inaugural edition of this tournament under Li Ning sponsorship but most of the rest of the world's best will be there with Malaysia and Denmark all sending their strongest. Tago Kenichi and Saina Nehwal also lead strong Japanese and Indian contingents respectively and England's Anthony Clark / Nathan Robertson are back to defend their men's doubles title.
China is still dangerous in women's singles, though, as reigning World Champion Lu Lan will be there, flanked by recent Badminton Asia Championship finalists Li Xuerui and Liu Xin. Korea and Indonesia, though nearly at full strength, will be missing a handful of marquee players as Taufik Hidayat, Lee Kyung Won, Lee Yong Dae, and Jung Jae Sung will all be staying home. Lee Hyo Jung will be reprising her Uber Cup partnership with Kim Min Jung in Singapore however, and will also be playing mixed with Swiss Open runner-up Shin Baek Cheol.

Singapore will be represented by a total of three family pairs in the doubles competitions. Not only with Hendra Wijaya team up once more with brother Hendri Kurniawan Saputra in men's doubles and sister Sari Shinta Mulia in mixed, but three-time champion Candra Wijaya of Indonesia will also be playing men's doubles with none other than brother-in-law and Singapore badminton legend Ronald Susilo.

The Badzine article that this blog entry was cut & paste from, with no credit, was based on the BWF M&Q list, which includes those playing qualifying rounds. On the tournament site, you only have the 28 entries from the 'M' list for the main draw.
