    Jonas,

When you exercise and train for badminton, what sort of things do you do. Do you use weights of some kind? When you go for a run, how far do you go? Also, when you use weights, what weights do you use and what parts of the body do you work on?

    Regards,
    Matt

    Weights and running

It´s very important to do weights for all your bodyparts. Arms, shoulders, legs etc.

If you´re strong in all these areas you are more subject to injuries and at toplevel your opponent will take advantage of your weak points.

In the summer I follow a running program made by the national coach and it varies a lot depending on how close the seaonstart is. Longer distances the further away it is and smaller and quicker interval training close to the season.

I do two kinds of running. Interval training and distance training. Normally it´s 10 km and the intervals varies a lot.

    Kind Regards

I assume you meant that this player is LESS subject to injuries.

Muscles can be subject to injury, however, if they're not properly stretched, warmed up, or overworked.

    Jonas,

You say train in all areas but that you'll be subject to injury. Did you mean you'll be less subject to injury??

    Jonas,

I just got a free membership for a year to my local gym, which permits me to use badminton courts and gym for free. What sort of training routine should i do? Could u give me a rough idea, what weights to do, on court training like shadow badminton, plyometrics? I'm turning pro in september...
