..i think if they just send Hafiz, or maybe throw in Kuan Beng Hong to play in his last major event, M'sia still has a great chance to win MS Gold..

For the individual titles, MS and MD are looking very solid indeed for Malaysia. Hard to see anyone going to stop them besides Anthony Clark/Nathan Robertson.
For WS, it looks super solid for India's Saina Nehwal.
For WD, it looks good for India and Singapore, should be a Ashwinni Ponpanna/Jwalla Gutta and Yao Lei/Shinta Mulia Sari final, unless the Malaysians can pull off a surprise with CEH/GLY or something. Malaysia has the unpredictable factor in WD.
XD, the England XD has a good chance and also India's solid Di Ju/Jwalla Gutta. CPS/GLY can pull off a surprise if they show some improvement since the WC.

For the team event, India should be the favourites. MS and MD are pretty secure for MAS but MAS's WS, WD and XD are the links that India can use to expose. Of course, there is a chance that India fails...:)

    Indian CWG squad

Here is the Indian squad. I was not sure if I should add a new message topic, so I decided to paste it under this topic.

    Squad:
Men: Chetan Anand, Parupalli Kashyap, Sanave Thomas, Rupesh Kumar, V. Diju.
Women: Saina Nehwal, Aditi Mutatkar, Jwala Gutta, Ashwini Ponnappa, Aparna Balan.
    Chief National coach: Pullela Gopichand
    Foreign Coach: Atik Jauhari

As reported by the Times of India -
World No. 3 Saina, who has been in a good form this season with three titles to her name, would be a strong contender for the gold medal.
India are eyeing a rich haul out of 18 medals at stake in badminton.
The mixed doubles team of Jwala Gutta and V. Diju, ranked 13 in world, reached the quaterfinals of the World Championships last week.
The men's doubles pairing of Rupesh Kumar and Sanave Thomas, ranked 16, and women's combination of Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa, also ranked 16, have had some good results under their belt recently.

Hmm, Rupesh Kumar/Sanave Thomas most likely not, because KKK/TBH is there. But India is set to outclass MAS in WS and XD and they will probably compete with CEH/GLY and Yao/Shinta for the WD title.

Somehow, i feel that Malaysia quest for Gold will be tough esp in the Team event. Our best chance are in the MS and MD. If Lee Chong Wei is doubtful and unable to play in CWG, then we may loose the edge. India seems strong in WS and XD.

WMC and LC in the ladies singles have to buck up and hopefully under the new coach some good result will surfaced soon.

Our XD has yet to be consistent and it seem to favour the Indian at the moment. Our WD weaken with the absence of WPT.

we can just hope for the best.

    IMO,
    India will make sure for 2 gold(SN & Diju/Gutta)

And MAS for sure 2 gold (LCW & Kkk/Tbh)

Jwala/Ponappa,Shinta/Yao,Ceh/Gly will fighting for gold .
The SIN wd look off form recently and also scatch pair ceh/gly not impressive yet in CMSS..
Jwala/Ponapa has bigger chance this time.

For Malaysia, MS is no longer solid with the reported injury to LCW's back. This is the time for Kasyap to take the initiative.

And with the loss of Malaysia's top Women's Doubles, the team gold could be a toss between England and India.

World number one Lee out to crack India jinx

    http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...o-crack-India-jinx/cwgarticleshow/6671050.cms

NEW DELHI: Badminton world number one Lee Chong Wei plans to end his India jinx at the Commonwealth Games, boosted by a narrow victory over fierce rival Lin Dan at the Japan Open last week.

The Malaysian is the defending men's singles champion, but has a poor record in India, failing to win either the Indian Open or the World Championships last year.

"I am not one who believes in previous records and things like that," he told Indian media on his arrival late Friday.

"I always look forward to giving my best in every tournament I participate in. India is one of the few places I have not been able to win a title," he added.

"I want to change that record now. Hopefully the Commonwealth Games will help me set the record straight."

Lee's key threat here is likely to come from compatriot Muhammad Hafiz Hashim, who won the Commonwealth singles crown in 2002 at Manchester.

But the world's best player in top form heading into the Games having won the Japan Open late Sunday, overcoming China's Lin in a tight three-set final.

"That win over Lin was very satisfying. I was losing to him often before that memorable win last Sunday," said Lee.

"Some of his strokes are to be seen to be believed."

The men's singles competition in Delhi gets underway on October 9, with the tournament kicking off with the mixed team heats on Monday.
