i have tried a number of grips and im still using the karakal PU supergrip. i'm going to restock my badminton gears soon, so i'm here to ask for suggestions. which grip is EXTREMELY tacky, has good durability and is affordable? i dont really mind if its replacement / overgrip. if its overgrip, ill just place it over original grip, and if its replacement, i can simply remove my replacementgrip. btw i sweat a lot from my hands.
Wilson Super Tack. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?28708-Dinker-Dan-s-Over-Grip-Review
i tried wilson super tack. it was very very tacky initially which i LOVED. however it became quite slippery when i started sweating from my hands. i actually lost hold of the racket and had to see my racket fly across the court. im looking for something thats tacky for sweaty hands, not just initially, but throughout the game. i find the G-11 from RacketExpert quite tacky throughout. Id like to know if theres any others out there i might want to try.
ive never tried apacs grip myself, but i heard apacs super pu is a clone of karakal pu supergrip. if that is the case, i prefer to stay with the original. but can anyone clarify this? anyway thanks for your input dorysan.
i think karakal pu supergrip is already a good choice. if you have extra budget, buy karakal pu touch. have you tried wrist band to hold your sweat from coming down to your palm?
I agree with dorysan, the Apacs Super PU grip is amazing and it is pretty much the same thing as the Karakal grip except A LOT cheaper! Just try it out, for the price of one Karakal grip, you could probably get almost ten of the Apacs grip.
karakal PU supergrip is fine. as for the sweat, did you try put on wrist band? this will reduce like 50-70% sweat from hand to palm. our palm doesnt sweat as much as from arm.
I find the tackiness and thickness of grip really causes a lot of sweat. I loosely overgrip with Yonex 102EX, still tacky but is a lot softer after a few uses.
but i am different from most of you here. i sweat madly from my palms, but i dont sweat that much overall. just to give you an idea of how crazy my body functions, after writing a page long paper, i can clench my fist and have sweat dripping.
no. thickness and tackiness has nothing to do with sweat... it does not stimulate your sweat glands. atleast not for me and i recon for mostly everyone else. maybe your special. thanks for your input anyway, but i tried nearly all yonex overgrips including yonex 102ex, but prefer to stay with other brands as other brands provide superior or equal quality for cheaper price.
Thickness retains heat, heat makes you sweat. Tackiness keeps your hand stuck in one place for a solid grip. No movement means less air circulating.
I just tried out Toalson Ion Power Grip Over Grip (Wet Type) size/0.6mm x 27mm x 1200mm and I was impressed with the tackiness of the over grip. I had an excellent grip with it also it had great cushion on my hands.
Getting into more details, the heat comes from your hands. Therefore even if heat is retained, it shouldn't make you sweat MORE because the retained heat should be of equal temperature. Also, with tackiness making your hands sweat more, no matter how tacky the grip is, it should still move because no one grips their racket as if its glued to their hand. Therefore, tacky or not, it shouldn't make a difference.
What i should have said is tackiness grips your hand more so there is less air. The heat does come from your hands but put it this way, its like a duvet. Thicker duvet equals more heat retained. Same material just thicker.
