After Renna Suwarno lost, I think Sapsiree will go all the way to lift the girl singles title.....

Lesser Lights Show Up Young National Team Shuttlers

Thursday was not a good day for Indonesia’s young national team shuttlers as they continued to struggle at the Tangkas Alfamart Junior Challenge.

Boys singles shuttler Evert Sukamta and girls doubles pair Gebby Ristiani and Tiara Rosalia are the last national players remaining in the event after they defeated their respective opponents in the quarterfinals at Gelora Bung Karno Tennis Indoor Stadium.

Evert came up against longtime rival Pisit Poodchalat of Thailand in the last eight. The match was close throughout and an early loss of concentration cost the Indonesian the first game, but he rallied to win the next two and advance 16-21, 21-17, 21-17.

“The game was very tight. I lost my focus late in Game 1 and it cost me. I tried to keep calm in the second game and I won,” he said after the match. “It was my fourth encounter with Poodchalat, and now we’re even.”

In the last four, Evert will meet Panji Akbar, who defeated Tzu Wei Wang of Taiwan 21-14, 21-12.

Indonesia grab at least 4 titles from Alfamart Junior International after Ganis beat Sapsiree 12-21 21-14 22-20. Still waiting Evert try to beat Prinyawat to clean sweep the title. However this is very difficult to Evert since Prinyawat has beaten INA good players in previous rounds.
