England's Donna Kellogg receives MBE for services to badminton

Donna Kellogg, one of England's most successful badminton players, has received an MBE following her retirement after a 12-year career that saw her win Commonwealth and European golds in doubles and complete three Olympic campaigns.

Kellogg stepped off court for the last time in December when the Derbyshire player and long-time partner Anthony Clark were knocked out in the semi-finals of the BWF Badminton Masters in Malaysia.

Kellogg's medal-packed career also included silver at the world championships in Madrid three years ago and 11 English National titles with Gail Emms, Joanne Goode and Clark. She first represented England in 1997.

13 years on and Kellogg has now been recognised in the Queen's Birthday honours. She follows Emms, the Olympic silver medallist, who was last year awarded the MBE and is currently an ambassador for Badminton England.
