Just to see some ppls oppinions, if anyone replies...

near my area, the coaches, (former world champion) has just recently decided to go back to china to train ppl because they know that they will earn alot more there.

One week b4 they left, another coach (another former world champion) took over, (it was organised along time b4 the coach left to china) i was taking a rest and overheard then talking... not on purpose but i heard them talking in english (suprisingly) that he said, he would train someone (obviously with talent) to international level, from like 5 in the morning, to 7, and then the student would get ready for school, then train the student after school for 2 hours, and let the student do hw, and eat, and socialise. and the more training at night.

Of course, when you devote your future to something, you're gonna have to sacrafise something else. so the student will have to sacrafise time, and alot of other things he/she wants to do (e.g. go out, eat junk food, etc) and the student also must have alot of money, time, talent, and determination, and must be willing to undergo that kind of training.

i'd just like to know what are ppls thoughts on that, and if there are neyone there that actualy does do that kind of thing, and if you had the chance, would you do it?

(I definetely rnt good enough for this but i just found it interesting)

Wow. If I had the chance I'll do it! IF. Wow, training at 5, stopping at 7. Hmm, in morning school I'm usually in school by 7. And I'm now in afternoon school. They must do things differently whereever you are, some Person. :D

Only if you're absolutly fanatical about badminton. Knowing the slim chances of success and the various pitfalls and the financial rewards of being an international badminton player. It's a pretty scary proposition. You only get to be young once, you only get your childhood once.

As much as i enjoy badminton, i don't think i'd be willing to give up the rest of my childhood experiences for it.

I would say you have to ask the kid's parents first if they are willing to get up earlier and take him/her to the practice at 5. Personally I would put more emphasis on education and adopt a wait and see attitude about his badminton 'talent'.

In my opinion you can't tell if a 5 year old kid is a future world champion. You could only probably say if the kid is athletic/coordinated enough to be a top level athlete. In China, kids as young a 3/4 years old are evaluated for athletic ability. The chosen ones will be sent to schools with more emphasis on PE side. But you know, from the thousands that are there, only a few will make to the national team.

    ic

    Haha, kewlies

I quite like some of ur oppinions and point of views...
I would have definetly said yes my self, only because I, for one aren't a really old player, although it is late to start still at my age.

and the thing is, Chinese in definete are known in the worlde to be one of the most hardworking ppl in the world, even though just the few ppl out of the thousands...
china doesnt only have thousands, millions, tens of millions.. 1.6 Billion, ppl, i wonder if that has any effect to why tey work so hard. Is it to stand above the other 5,999,999,999 ppl?
