Saina Nehwal and Ranking
I just looked at her ranking, she is no.6 at the moment with 60632 points and the no. 1 has around 72000, Saina's no.6 ranking doesn't include the Singapore open points and Super series win is worth 9000 ranking points which means she will climb upto no. 2 as other players above her are chinese who were absent and she relatively has an easier draw in INA open and if she wins this tournament, she will have some 78000 points which means she will be the World No.1, Correct me if I'm wrong. I think it will be good to see her as World No. 1, it might boost badminton dramatically in India.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think when lets say you reach QF in Singapore Open last year. Then, next year, you reach QF again. The points should remain the same because you lost at the same stage, thus minusing and plussing back the same amount of points. Or, if you reach SF this time, then you will receive a slight increase in points, minusing the tournament of the same name last year and adding it this year.

(correct me if I'm wrong, thanks)
Saina will be number 3 next week, and keep the ranking if she can defend her title at Indonesia.
Right now her points are as follow:
7000(India GP gold) + 6251(Uber Cup)+ 6420(All eng)+ 5040(Mas)+ 5040(French)+ 5040(Denmark)+ 6600(World champ)+ 5040(Singapore)+ 9200(Indo SS)+ 5000(India GP 2009)
So her ranking will be no.3 next week after having 4200 net points added at Singapore SS. But because Wang Xin only starts playing at Malaysia Grand Prix, her points will not decrease. And WYH played in both SIN and INA SS but, again she reached quarter-finals at both tournament, and she still has one 5040 and 4800 points not counted, so her points will be 74548-240=74308
So the world ranking (if Saina defended her title)
1. WYH 74308
2. WX 68942
3. Saina 64790
4. WSX 64276
WYH will be the world number 1 before the WC, but it is even harder to take away her number 1 after WC, as she exited the tournament early last year.

great!

And Saina Nehwal will become world no.2 two weeks later.
Wang Xin's point will be 63442 after deduction of points from Malaysia and Philippine grand prix last year.
While Saina points will remain the same, her points from Malaysia grand prix is not included. So she will replace Wang Xin's position.
Wang Yihan's has the same ranking points. She may have more points after WC, but she will feel the pressure as she won 3 super series titles and 1 runner-up in Japan, France, Hong Kong and Denmark.
She also won the title in macau. (9200+9200+9200+7800+7000)
Wang Xin did great in these events too.
Saina lost in first round in HK and Japan and reached quarter-final in Denmark, France and China. (2200+2200+5040+5040+5040)
So Saina has a great chance to be world number 1 after this summer
Provided the other two players cannot keep their points.
