As the title say, what is the best and cheapest shuttlecock for an Intermediate player like me? I am still in training and still has some missed shots every now and then.

usually, cheap shuttlecock has inferior quality to the expensive shuttlecocks.
for a good price - performance ratio, i recommend Aeroplane green. It is not the best shuttlecock out there, but is not that expensive and has better than average performance.
Also, you might want to try mavis 2000 for training if you are short on budget.

Ah. What is the price range of the Aeroplane green?

Mavis are Nylon shuttlecocks right, are they good one compared to feathers?

My players/students and I have tried KX Golden Ace 122 & KX 560 +A recently and found that the shuttles are durable and good quality. It can last for 2 sets and still in good condition. With the reasonable price, I think it is worth a recommendation.

Yes. Golden ace 122 and 560+A is a goose feather. Try the black ace 121 and silver 111, also not bad. Jungkeong, whr u buy Kx shuttlecock?

I have been using some S.Arrow Green Shuttles. Bought it for about 85 HKD each tube (very cheap imo). Very good quality for the price. Good flight en durability.

Tried Wilson topline 60 and hated it.
It traveled too far when hit and the speed was too quick.

    I still prefer aeroplane black.

have some li ning mid grade ones coming in next week... hopefully those will be ok for club play.

ND BOER or HEAD shuttleare the best and cheapest so far i have used. The trick to have a long lasting shuttle cocks are steaming the night before use. It will significantly increase the duration while getting a good performance. The shuttles will not snap. Unless u are using horrible shuttles.Reason why I have recommended those two because they have a great cork and amazing feather. Class 1 and yet SO CHEAP. I have got them in both CHina and the UK. BOER is very chinese brand so I am not sure if you can get hold of it but its the best shuttle i have used. Hope this helps.

Never heard of refrigeration. This technique is used for Victor shuttlecocks. If u buy them, you will realised the inside of the tube. is silverish and waterproof but normal one works just fine. you steam it by holding the shuttlecocks at the kettle mouth when water boils. Leave it on for 1-5 minutes. Doesnt need to be too long. The theory behind is Feather and water content. If u try breaking a feather with high moist water content (fallen straight from the goose, hard to break as it is more elastic)and vice versa. THere is proof so i like steaming. Refrigeration will need some reading for me :) . Drawback to steaming is that the feeling when hitting the shuttle will be quieter.

No idea what that is. As long as it is goose feather. Any forms will work. You can go for a try. Say put 5 shuttles in the tube and see if it last you longer. Remember to leave both end of the tube open when steaming.

just leave the shuttle directly attached to the kettle mouth. facing up and then down. Change the direction every 30 seconds. Do it for 1-2 minutes shud be more than enuff. Give it a try. :)
