anyone getting the ipad or iphone 4g this coming end of july in singapore?saw one shop in far east plaza selling the ipad wifi version for SGD 940 and iphone 4g is selling at SGD 2000+!!!(export set) i would rather wait till the launching date or buy online..2000+ ?? that's just crazy..
personally, I do not like Apples attitude towards customers, a) their direction with locking down and requiring iTuens etc för their devices b) their igonrance in taking bac and fixing all the iphone4 phones with antenna problems c) their censorshiip policy on their monopoly sofwareshop (no flash, no porno etc). Personally i like companies to provide me with a mobile phone that lets me do what I want to it, and make me feel that I am the owner of the device, not them. I know there are possible ways to jailbreak (for now atleast, until they make an upgrade who kills the jailbreaks). I don't approve of the way they are doing business, so II will stay away of their stuff, even though the hardware and lotso f the software are nice. /Twobeer
Drifit ... i am using an iphone leh. Probably i like to show off. Btw they are user friendly. I was using PCs and Nokias. Now im using a MAC and Iphone. Indeed make my life easier. Cons of Apple products is they are pricey. But i guess they are worth it. I do agree that Apple should have a replacement for the Iphone 4 for antenna/reception problem. But im sure Apple is working on it since they have just recently looking for experts in solving the issue. Once they have figure it out.. i also hope that Apple will have a recall on Iphone 4 with such problems. twobeer.. tell apple what you want.. and they may develope such device for you. To reply the Thread.. if you are using an Iphone or not.. just get the Ipad with the 3G. At the moment I would not get an Iphone 4... will wait and wait and wait...
Ants I totally agree with you on that point, Apple products are really expensive but they worth it and are really easy to use : I had never used an iPhone before my parents give me one for Christmas and then I discovered all the basic functions without reading the users' guide Btw the iPad can be used as a mini Mac since it uses Pages,etc
i said "most", didnt i? ipad = mini notebook or shall i say mini netbook. can we use to call or receive call? iphone = ipod + handphone. so, we use it mainly to make calls and receive calls or sms. if one ask whether to get iphone or ipad? how am i going to answer this question.......
While both my wife and i own ipods (both gifts) and I bought a used itouch for my 3 yr old son (to watch movies while out at dinner to keep him quiet), I also don't like the apple model and customer service. As for Mac's. Will never own one as I prefer to build and customize my own PC's, also for the same components as a PC you're paying on average $300 to $500 more for a mac... that OSX is pretty expensive....

Saw a guy with an iPad in a hotel while I was touring Quebec a couple days ago. Looks fun(with all the games, browsing on the internet won't be a hassle). But I personally wouldn't invest on a $500 device that basically looks like an oversized iPod Touch. For that price you can buy a pretty basic laptop with at least 2 or 3 USB ports, integrated camera, bluetooth, SD slots(something the iPad severly lacks, though I'm pretty sure the next update next year will have those) pre-loaded with Windows 7 etc.. The iPhone 4, looks drop dead sexy. After looking at the leaks before it released(pretty sure everyone saw it lol) the device looks like a worthy future investment(Too bad I can't afford a $50 monthly plan at the minimum). Though I saw an unlocked version for $1500USD
It is iPhone 4 for me ....Can't wait ...... Like ants, i am an Apple follower and user (Owned all ipod families, iphone, and Mac Book Pro)....not for showing off, but for the fact that it is worth every penny of it. Especially their Mac Books. Been using iPhone 3G for 1.5 years and i must say it is sooooooo user friendly. Don't like all the rules of Apple? Jail break your iPhone! Waiting for such development in iPhone 4 (Let's jail break it!) Having said that, personally i think iPad is a flop for personal end user, but a great invention and potential for restaurants, pharmacies, shops, hospitals, hotels etc. (Just imagine you order your food using iPads? i am sure such changes will take place real soon)
Agreed, but Microsoft is already ahead of the game I bet restaurants/companies have this product down in the States somewhere. Restaurants would really benefit from this, less waiters/waitresses, place your order with a touch of your finger, look through the menu with the swipe of your finger, place your credit card on the screen and pay by just placing your credit card down on the surface, the list goes on... http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en/us/default.aspx
no doubt there are some useful programs in MAC or iphone. if you need them then it will be wise to get it. one thing, has anyone update what happen to the claim that ipad is copying other's manufacturer design?

a friend told me don't get the ipad,get the We pad(or did he mean Wii pad??) instead..the specs are better plus it supports flash.but still i think ipad is better as there are tons of applications to download,i mean better gaming experience.won't mind getting this We pad too if i got extra money since i love these gadgets thing..btw what the hell is this We pad?it just came out of nowhere..
basically an ipad is like an oversized itouch... I personally won't get an iphone just based on the fact that everybody and their grandmother's got one... And the fact that Apple is taking the holier than thou stance on what is obviousily a design flaw and just saying people are holding their phone wrong and it happens on all cell phones...
@ants disapointed that you have ditched your Nokia E71, I have one and it's great, there is so much stuff you can do, and I have free Internet, so I can access BC anytime I have aloe of data on it, and I use it as a sort of on the go computer, which I do various school projects and stuff, I may upgrade to the E72, unless someone can convice me to buy an Iphone4
also, I own an iTouch, why is it that Apple don't support flash player, and when you try to download Adobe Flash Player, it gives me the message "Safari cannot download this file" I mean seriously, what has Apple got against flash player, I think for $250 I want something with flashplayer. Apart from this it's great.
