Correction - that is called 'service charge' which is already included in the final bill.
A tip is over and above this.

the backhand may only be performed on dishes with solid properties, and not items that are peaking at boiling point.

anywhere i can get a clip of Taiwanese politics? sounds funny.
    no offense

Was it the one where one guy got into a fight with another? Think I saw it on RealTV and all over Kazaa too. If that's the stuff they pull while still on TV, it makes you wonder about the underhanded tricks they use 'behind the curtains'

I dont know if the % is correct, but many of them ARE heads of gangs( u see them in the news everyday... iz lik.. police find some huge amount of $ in their drawers at work [bribe] which they claim to be "money misplaced" or other crap lik that)... although it's gradually been getting better, dunno how long it'll b until all the gang related crap is cleared out of politics in Taiwan tho...

I guess iz another reason I'm not in Taiwan~

Its not required by law per se, but the culture strongly encourages you to, as per JChen99's story, which is not uncommon it seems
