I'm planning to get a 2nd hand AT500. According to the owner, it's strung at 21lbs with NBG98. The pic of the small crack is as follows. The reason I'm considering this is because I'm using AT500 now strung with BG65Ti at 24lbs. I'm beginning to like this racket more because of powerful smash. The owner said its a small crack and he doesn't feel any problem playing with it. I want to get a same model as a sub racket. Would I have any problems stringing this one within the recommended tension(20~25lbs)?
According to the owner it's a small and light crack. He just newly restrung with NBG98 at 21lbs after the crack. I've never had any experience with broken rackets so I'm not sure. So you guys think I should forget about it?
It is not worth getting a cracked racket. The crack has gone through the grommet, and the racket will be unplayable if restrung
I just got the racket and the damage seems to be worst than from the first pic above. Kinda regret getting it but there is no turning back so I wonder there is any don't to extend the lifeline of this racket. The crack is not deep at all and the outer part of the frame exactly fine. My main racket is another AT500 strung with BG65Ti at 24lbs. This one is strung with NBG98 at 21lbs. I plan to use this as backup racket and for light practice sessions. Any chance the crack will get deeper and breaks during light play?
I just hope I didnt buy a complete junk. I would be happy if this can serve me as a backup racket. Btw, is your AT700 usable after similiar crack? I would consider if I'm living in CAN.
its not usable. i strung it at 28lb and once it cracked it kinda caved in a bit not touching the rest of my at700s LOL
Cut the string off... It is very dangerous, the racket will crush.... Stop useing this... go and fix it...
