    [IMG] Please Help, Racket recommedation

    HI Every body,

I want to find a replacement for my MP100.
    I have tried some racket before, and I love the MP100 most > Ti10(1st Gen) > Ti8.
But I cannot buy them any more.

I have bought MP99 but I found that the shaft is not stiff enough.
It got a better control, but it also cause some delay.

    I have bought AT700 and AT800OF.
I like them both, but not as good as the MP100, which got a better balance in all aspect.
The head of the AT700, AT800 are a bit too heavy.
The smash are powerful, but defense are a bit slow.

Then I have bought the NS9000X,
I love the Stiffness of the shaft but the head is a bit too light.
The speed of this racket is fast, but the smash are not powerful enough.

I am now planning to buy the ARC-Z as my MP100 replacement.
Do you think it will satisfy my needs?
If not, Do you have any better suggestion?
I hope the characteristic of the racket will be similar to MP100.

    Thanks all :)
    Jacky
    PS: MP100 (3uG5) + String Ti68 (25lbs)

    Jacky,

ArcZ is not going to work. The shaft material is quite stiff but the entire racket is quite flexible due to the shaft being longer.

If you do not mind moving away from Yonex, do give the Mizuno Tetracross 700 a try. I have not tried the Arc 8DX but it may be a racket worth looking at from other's review.

    Thanks all,

It seem that 8DX will be a good choice.

But, I also want to try the Mizuno Tetracross 700 too.
However I do not have any friends who use Mizuno 's racket.
How is the performance of the racket compare to Yonex's?
    (Such as power, speed, durability..etc)

    Thanks a lot
    Jacky

Check out my review comparing the ArcZ, TC700 and ZELM Ultimate.

    You are wrong. :)

I encountered 7 TC700 (5 which I own, different batches). Except 1 with a longer handle (not even sure how that happened), all of them weight within 1g, have the same swing weight (very similar BP) and plays very very similarly.

Do you have the possibility of trying the racquets before you buy them?
You have said you have bought a lot of racquets and have found problems with them. I would reccommend you ask your seller for a 24hr trial before you buy. You may need to leave a deposit, but I found it was well worth it when I asked.

It seem that TC700 is a good racket.
I must try it if I have a chance.
However it is not so common even in Japan.
I went to one of the largest racket shop yesterday, but I still did not find it.
    (The Windsor Racket Shop)

    Thanks Andy for your recommendation.
But the local seller seem does not provide a trial service.
Personally, it is difficult for me to get use to the racket within a few hours test
and to judge whether it is suitable for me or not.

So I used to find some information about the racket on the internet first,
then if the racket may suitable for me, I will buy it and continuously using it for a few months.
If I find that it is really not suitable for me, I may resell it or exchange it with my friends.
Some racket may still keep under my bed, and hope that one day if I get a better skill, I may able to full use the power of the racket.

Recently, I still use my AT800(if I need a stronger smash) and NS9000x(if i want a better defense)
But most of the case I will only use my MP100.
I just afraid one day my MP100 will die out, (MP100 is so fragile, I had broken 2 pieces already)
So it is more safe for me to look for a backup right now, before it die.

    Thanks all
    Jacky

    Thanks Yoppy,

It is so happy to know that it is still able to buy a MP100 which has stop production for a period of time.

    Thanks a lot,
    Jacky

I am surprised that you are not able to find any MP100 as your location is in HK. I have seen them around for a premium over the high end Yonex rackets but they are still available in limited supply.

    HI all,
I haven't try it out at the court yet.
The badminton court in Tokyo is not as easily find as HK.
I have to wait unit Tuesday night. (tmr night^^)

The first feeding is that the head of TC700(3u) is heavier than the MP100(3u)
and a little bit heavier than the AT800of(4u). (May be similar to AT700(4u))
The stiff is similar to MP100(3u) and a little bit stiffer than the AT800of(4u).

The length of shaft is similar to MP100, AT800of but shorter than the ARC-Z.
    I bought it in shuttle-house (50%off) 12,075yen.

It seem that it can deliver a great power from it.
Anyway, I will find it out at tmr night. ^_^

I am in Tokyo right now, and I may not back HK within a short period of time.
I went to one of the largest racket shop in Tokyo, Windsor Racket Shop at Ikebukuro, but I couldn't find it.

A tip on the TC700. The sweetspot is a little lower than normal.

    Thanks weeyeh,
I will try my best to hit the shuttle near the 12th and 13th cross lines.
Just try a few hits at home ^^, the sweet spot seem smaller than the At800of(4u).
But it seem that it can deliver more power.

Anyway, I will try it out in the court tonight, after a few hrs later.
Hope it will give me some surprise.:)

For the TC700, it comes when you strike the sweetspot with a racket speed that the shaft ejects the shuttle out... pure ecstasy.

Finally I have time to tried the TC700 last night.

Smash, Drive and Clear are great.
The shuttle come out from this racket is fast and powerful.

But for the defense, I think I still need some time to get use to this racket.
The head of this racket is a bit heavier than those racket I used to play with
and the sweet spot is a bit smaller too.

During defense in double, I was not able to hit on the sweet spot all the time.
Sometimes, the shuttle didn't go far enough but sometimes it just go straight behind the back line.

Anyway, I think I need to spend a few more hours to communicate with this racket,
and I am sure I will fall in love with it in near future. ^^
