Kwong Beng ready to face Chong Wei in Macau Open

KUALA LUMPUR: Back-up men’s singles shuttler Chan Kwong Beng is looking forward to brushing shoulders with mentor Lee Chong Wei in the Macau Open, which starts tomorrow.

Kwong Beng, the reigning Kedah Open champion, is likely take on top seed and defending champion Chong Wei in the second round.

The Malaysian team, led by Chong Wei, left for Macau yesterday.

The 22-year-old Kwong Beng admitted that it was a tough draw but he did not mind having to play against Chong Wei.

“It is unfortunate that I may have to meet Chong Wei as early as in the second round and that the odds are against me. But it will be give me a chance to know where I stand against him this year,” he said.

Kwong Beng played against Chong Wei in the final of the Pahang Open last year and went down without much of a fight.

The outcome of the match showed the vast gulf in standard between Chong Wei and Kwong Beng.

But Kwong Beng hopes to narrow the gap when they meet again in the Macau Open.

I have improved in some areas of my game and, hopefully, I will be able to give Chong Wei a better fight this time,” he said.

In the first round tomorrow, Kwong Beng should beat Taiwan’s Hao Hsu-jen while Chong Wei should not face any problems against a qualifier.

'BOLEH' has been misunderstood by many BCers

    .
IMHO, 'BOLEH' has been misunderstood by many BCers. :(:(:(

Perhaps, we should start a simpler cheer like; 'Malaysia, Malaysia, Malaysia'. :):):)

Yes, this is the perfect platform to see how our backups fare against the other players. Especially Mak Hee Chun and Tan Wee Kiong!

Based on their performance in Kedah Open where they defeated Boleh senior/elite, I expect them to lift up their BOLEH expectations to win these matches... otherwise, sorry to say that ... errr... jaguh kampung?

    BOLEH... BOLEH... BOLEH...

He is just highlighting the Malaysian pairs, no silly joke here. This is not his prediction... :D
Anyway, I think GWS/TKS will lose, while Mak/TWK will win.

Hehe, maybe we shouldn't entertain him. For some reason, his location has changed to Malaysia. And he is known for simply spewing false information himself. ;)
