Will it be China versus Korea leading up to London Olympics 2012?
The Chinese are conspicuously absent in recent SS tournaments, so Korean coach Li Mou can't experiment with his charges on how best to beat the Chinese. Maybe the opportunity will present itself in the forthcoming WC.
But it will not be surprising that LM will bide his time for a chance to take revenge on LYB. Already the Koreans have mastered China's hitherto seemingly unbeatable women's team for the official world team championships Uber Cup in KL this year. And there are more men singles players of world class material coming out of Korea recently to challenge the Chinese. Korea's men's doubles have always been of a high standard.
So will it be an inevitable clash between incumbent China and Korea to determine who will be the master in world badminton, say for the period leading up to the London Olympics? Will Indonesia, Malaysia and others like Taipei and India be able to spring a surprise? Will their back-up squads be ready to take on the mantle in such a relatively short time?

Ws singles looks open to me. In 2 years Thais will be ready.Unless Lee Xue Rei can also grow by leaps and bounds.
MD looks open too.
Wonder if its true that LI Mao can be so devastating.
Hard to believe that China cannot come out with many coaches to match him.
is he the real factor or is it the Korean system or both?Last edited by Bbn; 08-08-2010 at 06:18 PM.

KOR WS looked a little rusty in the Macau and Taiwan GPs. Struggled against non-elite level players. Don't have much confidence in them at the moment (and that's coming from their #1 fan!

MS I'd Kenchi Tago, but I think it'll be LCW winning.
MD I'd like a Denmark win, but I think Korea
WS I think it'll be China
I wish it was a lot more diverse about the number of countrys that are in the running, but I agree it's probably only China and Korea
