Went to the doctor last night, and was told that I needed to rest my elbow for at least a month. Got Golfer's Elbow......

I have the same problem before. I didn't stop playing. How did I overcome this problem--this is from my own experience?
1. I stop using my AT700 racket for a 2months-due to HEAD Heavy and use super-head Light racket 85g-87g.
2.ICE it for 15 minutes before playing-to reduce the Nerve sensitivity.
3.Strengthening the muscles and tendons involved with golfers' elbow to prevent the problem from returning.By doing forearm exercise, lifting bar w/out weight with palm facing the floor.
4. Also, I use the MAG-BOY magnetic ball & keep rolling Over and Over the elbow and surrounding where my pain whenever I am watching TV or on my computer. I did this for a month too--it was painful at first---then it become NUMB to the pain and Now I don't even feel it anymore. I can now use Head-heavy racket > than AT700 w/out problem(90-100gr) Then I fall in love with my AT700---and the racket cracked on ME----there go my $200. Thinking about getting another AT700.....
good luck with your recovery.........

I have this wrist pain/injury or whatever, and hurts every time I play. It also hurts just by bending my wrist both ways. I know that if I go see a doctor, they will tell me to rest my wrist for a month also... So then, I won't go see a doctor and keep playing.

Thanks Eddie, I'll try some of the things you suggested.
Hopefully I will be 100% when you have your next SuperBird Doubles Survival.
That's kind of risky, AerotusX. That was the way I was thinking too, just play and ignore the pain. The thing is that the pain may or may not get worse and if you are seriously injuring a tendon, you may end up needing surgery if it gets really bad. My doctor said I can still play, but I just need to wear a full elbow brace. I decided to just rest it until it heals, better to give up badminton for a month or two, than to have pain for the rest of your life.I have this wrist pain/injury or whatever, and hurts every time I play. It also hurts just by bending my wrist both ways. I know that if I go see a doctor, they will tell me to rest my wrist for a month also... So then, I won't go see a doctor and keep playing.

I heard today..
..Eddie, i talked with Sammy and Michael (Hegel) y'day (Sunday) and they told me both tourneys (Singles and XD) are being considered to be postponed until the 11th of October???..Any confirmation??

I also didn't see your sign-up list on the wall; Sammy said he has it well secured in his back pocket..

The weekend of 10/10-10/11 would probably get even less participants since the UCLA Bruin Open is on that weekend. If you must postpone the S and XD tourneys, then maybe the 10/17 weekend??
